Nashorn Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 - The publisher has been crashing for two days when I continue working on my photobook. Often when I move an object, picture in a frame or text frame. - It also happens that the saving process never ends even after hours. The publisher may have reached his limit with my book project. The photo book now contains 240 pages with over 1000 images with a total file size of 7 GB. However, they are linked and not embedded. My MacBook Air 2018 has only 8 GB of memory and 251 GB of flash memory. Perhaps this is also a limiting factor. - Finally the sizes of the xyz.afpub files irritate me: 1st version 240 pages xyz1.afpub - 118.8 MB 2nd version 240 pages "saved as" xyz2.afpub - 96 MB 3rd version 41 pages (200-240) xyz3.afpub - 7.9 MB 4th version 199 pages (1-199) xyz4.afpub - 111.6 MB - The number of pages of xyz2.afpub is bigger than number of pages of xyz4.afpub, but the smaller book takes up more space than the larger one. It's strange isn't it? - After I saved my photo book, I closed it. Then the rainbow ball spun for 5 minutes before I could use the publisher again. I installed the latest update. But it didn't help. Are there hidden bugs in the program or am I overwhelming the program and the computer? Quote

How much empty space (free space) is on the drive? That is the limiting factor, it is needed for swap files. I like to keep at least 30% free. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Pšenda Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 (edited) SaveAs cleanly saves the file without any fragments which arise on work progress, so its size is always the smallest. I recommend to search the forum - it has been discussed and the developers explained many times. For interest, I added a link to my previous post.
