zimmt Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 In the latest Affinity Designer 1.8.1 changing the "Embedded fonts" setting for PDF exports does nothing. The files always export with fonts converted to curves. This is on a Mac 10.15.3 using the App Store version. Quote
Staff Sean P Posted March 10, 2020 Staff Posted March 10, 2020 Hi zimmt, This is a known issue when using the MAS version with Catalina, it is currently being investigated by development. Thanks for letting us know! Quote
Staff Patrick Connor Posted March 15, 2020 Staff Posted March 15, 2020 We believe this will be fixed in the next MAS releases, which we hope to be released this week. heyitsaaronjordan 1 Quote Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! heyitsaaronjordan Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 (edited) I have been struggling with the same issue today — wanted to give an update from the MAS distribution of Designer 1.8.2: The file I was working with used two fonts, Arial and Arial Black, but only Arial embedded when doing a PDF export. Arial Black text was converted to curves. This is an improvement over MAS 1.8.1, which converted both fonts to curves, but I wanted to report the issue since it isn't completely solved. I have attached a relevant, exported page of the document I was working with. I downloaded the trial version from the Affinity Store to test and both fonts were embedded correctly in that distribution on the same machine running Catalina. 200316_Squares_Secular_demo.pdf Edited March 17, 2020 by heyitsaaronjordan Patrick Connor 1 Quote
