Popuri
Hello! I have an object with an outline on it. Is there a way to convert that to a singular fill like you can with expanding a stroke? Thank you, and I hope you have a nice day!
GarryP
Where is the outline on your image? All I see is a purple shape with no outline.

GarryP
Welcome to the forums. With which brush tool did you create your line? ziodg
firstdefence
@Popuri Which app are you using? That looks decidedly like a shape to simulate a text extrude, it also looks quite sharp, if it’s a vector shape you can expand the stroke and then merge the two curves. @ziodg If that is a vector 🤨 brush converting it to a filled object will not be possible in Affinity because Affinity vector brushes are raster images (PNG) on a vector curve. and Affinity has no bitmap to vector capabilities. You can export it out and use an app that has trace facilities such as Inkscape or one of the online vectorising apps. ziodg 1 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... That’s not exactly right Affinity’s Vector brushes are full vector brushes, they are raster images i.e. PNG files on a vector curve, so they are bendable raster brushes really, as such you cannot expand a raster (PNG file) as it is pixels. The only way to get these to vector state is to use a trace image app either online or an app with bitmap trace built in such as Inkscape. These brushes are true vector brushes from Affinity Designer 1.6.1 and are the Basic brushes, these can be expanded: Basic AD1.6.1.afbrushes so if Affinity can do it with these I’m definitely sure they can do it with other brushes with more complex shapes. ziodg 1 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more...
