Getting new Photoshop plug-ins into Affinity Photo

Recommended Posts

Hi! I'm Anastasiy, long time developer of various Photoshop plug-ins like MagicPicker color wheel and MagicTints, the machine learning color matcher.

Me and my team are porting some of our tools to Affinity Photo and ran into coding troubles. Whom can I talk to regarding this issue? Do you have any forums/resources/support/information/other channels for 3rd party developers?

I would be happy to talk to development team if it's possible. We are building software for Adobe platform for more than 12 years. Tried to reach out by email - never received any answers.

Thank you!
Anastasiy

Your message would eventually be picked up by a Moderator and passed onto a Developer, but it is more likely to happen if you post in the Feedback for Affinity Photo on Desktop forum.

Both of these plugin (Panels) will not be usable in Affinity Photo, Affinity can't use Panels. People need to understand that some "plugins" are actually Panels, Extensions or Scripts all of these cannot be used in Affinity products, they rely heavily on Adobe script which is pretty specific to Adobe products.

It would be interesting to know if they could ever be used but I'm guessing the answer is no.

Cool! Thank you very much for the answers! Hopefully it will catch developers' attention in the end.

I see! I'm not trying to port them as they are. How about .plugin/.8bf plugin that processes the images? It's a C++ plugin, not a script.

Thanks again!

That could well work, but no guarantees.

That's good to hear! I wonder what kind of arm and leg it takes to make sure it works 100%?

Couldn't find any requirements or docs or event hints anywhere.

Call them 🙂

  • Computer-, operating system- and software agnostic; I am a result oriented professional. Look for a fanboy somewhere else.

  • Not an Affinity user og forum user anymore. The software continued to disappoint and not deliver.
