It would be nice if one could make the paper structure simple when designing business cards. So that the business cards look like on real paper. Is there such an effect, possibility without paper as background image?

The only way to simulate the paper effect on you business card it to get the paper pattern on a transparent png file and place this above your drawing and then adjust the opacity to get the desired effect.

I don't think you can do much better in Designer. (Possibly try changing the blend mode, try multiply).

In Photo you can sometimes get a better effect using the Lighting filter, but it takes a lot of trial and error.

Hopefully Serif may decide to add a texturizer filter one day (as in PS)
