v_kyr Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 Quote Drag the spread origin from the horizontal/vertical ruler intersection to position it on the page... Trying to change/set the origin for both the x- and y-axes here via dragging the rulers doesn't work on OSX El Capitan, the other axis will always be reset back afterwards near to it's initial origin. - Probably behaves the same here then for AD and/or APub (didn't tried though for those). screencast.mp4 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
Old Bruce Posted January 12, 2020 Posted January 12, 2020 We can only drag both x and y, not one or the other. In other words we always set both at the same time. Perhaps a modifier key would be useful for doing one at a time. v_kyr Posted January 12, 2020 Author Posted January 12, 2020 Maybe, I lately tended more to use the help line setup panel, since there one can better and more accurate setup independently these things. - Via dragging both ruler scale origins always at the same time, it's often not as accurate for me to setup things. Especially if you are more concentrated on a step for step setup, aka first X then Y direction and positioning or viceversa. Staff MEB Posted January 13, 2020 Staff Posted January 13, 2020 Hi v_kyr, As Old Bruce mentioned you can't change the X and Y coordinates independently when dragging the origin from the rulers. You can use the Guide Manager for setting a specific value or if you really want to do it on canvas, drag a guide to mark the X coordinate you want, then another for the Y coordinate and finally drag the origin to the intersection of both (Snapping must be enabled). Even so it's more easy to just set the values directly in the Guide Manager. It always worked like this so not a bug really more an improvement. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
