I understand we are improving plugin support in Photo 1.8.0  (and new 1.8.0 beta builds are coming in the next few weeks)

Hi Judge, edulofter,
Have you tried changing the file format to RGB 8 before using the plugin? I know the older Portraiture v2.3.5 worked fine with 8bit images but crashed with 16bit. May be worth a try if you don't require 16 bit. I haven't tested v3 yet.
