VectorVonDoom
macOS Catalina 10.15.1, AD 1.7.3. I managed to get the swatches panel to mess up. Not sure how as I only added those swatches but had docked/undocked it too. It sorted out on a restart. However more of a problem is that the options menu isn't there top right so I can't export etc and it's just not there ever. Staff Sean P Posted November 14, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 14, 2019 Hi Marc, We've often seen this with the Colour Panel and happens when undocking and moved around occasionally. This is something that should be fixed in 1.8.
VectorVonDoom
Hi Sean, Thanks. Does that include the options menu disappearing? It's not there even after a restart. I also tried a preferences reset and it didn't help. As it happens I decided I didn't need to export the swatches anyway, which is good! Staff Sean P Posted November 14, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 14, 2019 If you adjust the width of that Panel to make it Wider do you get the Preferences button appearing? There is a known issue that can cause all Panel Widths to expand when you dock a wider panel to the studio than the rest. Whilst the studio doesn't appear bigger, the controls are stretched and things like the Panel Preferences disappear. See attached. VectorVonDoom
No, I had tried that and just tried again to be sure. I hadn't checked before but it doesn't show up on any palettes. I just tried 1.7.0 that was on my old macbook and that is fine on my new one with Catalina, the options menus show as expected. Staff Patrick Connor Posted February 19, 2020 Staff Share Posted February 19, 2020 We have made fixes/improvements to this area (swatches panel messed up) of the program in the latest customer beta. If you would like to try these changes the beta software is available in the forum posts listed below. The latest beta builds are downloadable from links at the top of each of these beta forum posts. Affinity Photo 1.8.0.166 for Mac Affinity Designer 1.8.0.5 for Mac Affinity Publisher 1.8.0.556 for Mac These betas install parallel, next to the release version (they do not overwrite your release) and so the fixes can be tried in the beta without affecting your normal workflow in the release version. Once these programs have been through a full beta process the change will be released in a future free 1.8.0 update/patch to all customers.
