lookandlearn1976
Hi can you possibly tell me why I have part of my background showing through on this dove in Affinity. If you look at the wing of the dove, the blue background is showing through in a really weird way. I know how to get rid of the pencil line (please ignore the pencil), but the blue on the wing from the background is really baffling me because it's not part of the group, and it's further down the layer chain as the background. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the endpoint on the wing attaching itself to another part of the dove. I've tried breaking the endpoint to make sure there's no join, and also tried to make sure that while the bird is a group layer, it's attached correctly. Thanks. lookandlearn1976
Hi, thanks for the reply. How would I send you the file? Export the artboard as an svg as opposed to a png and send you that? Thanks.
Staff Callum Posted October 29, 2019 Staff Share Posted October 29, 2019 If you just go to File > Save and save it as an Afdesign file then send me that Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.

lookandlearn1976
Just to clarify - this section is the one that i'm referring to. The shadow effect is behaving wierdly on one section. I also had to create a random white square to fill in the blue space on the wing and make it white because the white fill on the bird left a gap that showed the background. lookandlearn1976
Thanks! That worked great!! Wow, so much to learn!! I applied an inner shadow to the bird though that somehow seems to not be applied to that section of the wing....is there a way to retrieve that using winding on the fill? Thanks again! lookandlearn1976
Thanks guys so much!!!!! Wow, I've so much to learn!! I think I'll go with the closed wing above. I don't actually think it looks too awkward really. Thanks again!!
