  1. Hi, As mentioned in the title, Affinty suite should include support for "density-independent" pixels (also known as 'DP') that are primarily used during Android/ Material Design development. The specification can be found on this website, but essentialy they are similiar to Apple's 'points' (pt) which is already supported, and very similair in function. 'dp' varies by using 160 pixel/inch base instead of 163: Android presets for phones such as the Google Pixel would be a welcome addition that use this new unit. This would really help me out as currently I struggle with asset creation / UI design for Android and always messing up the sizes when exporting. Since points are already supported, I would image adding this unit shouldn't be too much of a hassle (hopefully 😁)
  2. Hi! Does it make sense to wait for the light version for the iPhone in the near future? I really miss the pocket vector editor for accurate sketches ... with symmetry and sticking on the grid Or can you recommend an application from another manufacturer?
  3. Not directly affinity photo ipad related, but maybe the community can help me out here. I'm a starter in photography, have a serveral hundered raw files to work with and are looking for an ipad pro 12.9 with affinity ipad. (My old macbook is slow and does not last lang on battery anymore, dont want to buy a new one, i already do everything on my normal ipad mini and iphone) So i am looking for a complete mobile workflow, i saw that i can use diffirent cloud spaces so place anough to store the raw files. But who has experience with organizing and add taggs to the edited photo's? which app is the best for this, or any tips and tricks are welcome. Thanks guy's
  4. Are there any plans to port Affinity Photo and Designer to the Andoid OS? At least to the higher end tablets like the Galaxy Tab S3 or S4?
  5. I am not a photographer so I don't have the equipment nor the setup to take good photographs to work with. Especially my random food pictures taken with my 170$ phone tend to end up looking so unflattering that I don't even want to share them with anyone because the colors are so bad, the food looks disgusting. I've been looking for ways to make these pictures look more appealing and am pretty proud of the outcome of this one. Of course, it's not even close to perfect and if anyone has any advice on editing low quality pictures, it would be much appreciated. Most editing tutorials start out with professional raw images, which I don't have and a lot of the techniques used come out different than expected, so it's been a tough journey that I fear will only ever end once I get a better phone or camera. Anyway, here's the before (left) and after (right):
  6. I’m using a combination of AD and Keynote to design and prototype an iOS mobile app. For those that have successfully used AD for this purpose, what size device screen do you use for your art boards? Should I stick with one size of a small screen (phone), and one of a large screen (tablet)? Should I also include both portrait and landscape orientations? Or am I making this more complicated than it should be? Thanks!
  7. Since some of us have been using Designer as a sudo publishing app I naturally attempted to transfer/convert my Designer to a Publisher document. Well the good news is you can open the a Designer file straight in publisher the bad news is that's about it. Publisher right now doesn't give any options on how to translate or configure the file. Same goes for when "placing" a document, in particular a designer one, but I'll get to that later. So here are somethings that could be useful: 1. Publisher could give the option to read in all or selected Designer's Art boards as pages.(Preferred) 2. Publisher could give the option to read in all or selected Designer's "Slices" as pages, and or possibly converting the "Slices" feature into a "slices" adaptation in Publisher as well. 3. Publisher could also give the option to read in and convert Designer's vectors into Publishers vector when embedded. 4. Publisher could also give the option to read in and convert Designer's document color palettes into Publishers color palette. As for the placement feature in Publisher: 1. Again give the option to read in all or selected Designer's Art boards(Preferred) or slices as pages. 2. Right now placement adheres to the Publisher's document size which is strange especially when the imported document is larger than Publisher's document size. I don't mind Publisher centering on the upper lefthand corner of the placed document, but it would be useful if it would respect the it's original size and allow it to move/slide it around with in the Publishers adjustment frame. Overall UI features that would be useful.. This may have been covered somewhere, so I'm sorry if it has: 1. Color coding for the layers that's represented in the layers themselves and in the vector lines and frames. 2. A "slices" or layer parsing feature like in Designer. 3 Epub exporting with interactive links. 4. Of course that would mean Interactive links features that would be support in Epub documents. These are possibly forward thinking but not really all that radical in nature especially in this ePub era: 1. This may sound crazy but today I don't think it really is, but maybe have an HTML5 feature or robust implementation and export, which of course would mean. 2. Movie and gif import capabilities or links sourcing links vimeo, youtube, flicker, google maps and the like and so on. 3. Front end for database configurations for sql, filmmaker, excel, numbers and what ever other mainstream databases there are. 4: Password protection and sign in features. 5. Some site analytics feature sourcing and so on. Whatever makes sense. (I used iWeb in the past which was extremely rudimentary, so I think making this sort of leap isn't that far fetched and I believe it would truly cement publisher's title and a true Publishing App) 6. Dashboard or Web Clip exporting. 7. Mobile device configurations/presets and deployments and or exports. 8. Simple Xcode export for UI with some possible simple interactive coding included. 9. ftp site uploading and updating features. Well that's it for now.
  8. I’m trying to export raw images from Lightroom mobile into affinity. When you use the share button it works but I can’t tell if the file stays raw as the affinity metadata doesn’t list file type. In Snapseed it converts it to jpeg.
  9. Game Assets for building match 3 elements style of game are now 100% free. You can use them conveniently thanks to the assets panel .afassets file included. Download it for free! here http://www.affinitytemplates.com/match-3-game-assets-for-free/

  11. At the moment, I'm engaged end the design UI/UX for mobile applications. I can no longer imagine my work without Affinity, here is my new job at Affinity Designer. I know that over time you will become even stronger and better! Thank you for the incredible product!
  12. Hey there, I'm wondering if there are any tutorials specifically for putting the website design together and making it work. Is it simply html coded after designing a webpage in AD? For instance, how would you make functioning buttons and links from it? I don't mind the html part, I just need to know if the UI kit includes that type of option to make the buttons I create do something. If there's nothing AD can do for that, how are people creating mobile/web interfaces with their AD designs? Second question, are there any tutorials on how to make keyboards with the UI kit for mobile? Just keyboard skins. I've already viewed Affinity's tutorials on the UI kit, they don't answer these questions for me. Thank you~
  13. How can I preview the APP UI on mobile phone? I use windows ,and I have iPhone and an android phone.
  14. Greetings! I just bought & installed Affinity Photo. As a Lightroom/Photoshop user, one thing I really like is the ability to edit on my mobile devices and sync those edits across devices. Coupled with the ability to catalogue as easily as I can in LR, adding that functionality would make me disable my Adobe account and go full-on Affinity. Great product- keep it up!
  15. Hello Guys, Well i have been using AD for my UI design projects and i am enjoying it so far. Some of you guys may know that there are multiple devices with multiple screen sizes. Multiple resolutions which doesn't scale up or down proportionally due to difference in aspect ratio. So how do you guys start the design? 1. Do you create an artboard with smallest version then scale up or other way around? 2. How do you export the assets with AD? (By export i meant efficient way to export multiple size) 3. How do you deal with different aspect ratio? I know that AD has good export tools where i can choose 1x, 2x for export but the aspect ratio for all screens are not same. I started a design for Iphone 5 retina display. It has an aspect ratio of 16:9. So i can use 1x, 2x asset features to scale up or down. 4. But what about android with ratio 16:10 for some device? My strategy was to design for different ratio, starting with smallest device then scale up asset during export. 5. Is this an efficient way or do you have better way? Note this question is not directly related to AD but the question general. But as i am using AD export feature so i am asking here to know if there is some efficient way that i didn't figure out.
  16. Hi there, I recently had to chance to discover Affinity Designer. As a hobbyist and not a professional artist, I must say the product really encouraged me to create and learn more about graphics design due to its easy to use and visually pleasing interface. After I familiarised with the software, I decided to use Affinity Designer to create art for a mobile video game that I was planning to develop for some time. It recently listed on the App Store and I decided to share with the community. I'm open to all sorts of feedbacks and I also would like to express my gratitude by discovering with this most amazing software and its creative team. 18. Hi Folks, Beginner question here. So I've got a logo design Ive done using AD. I'm semi-happy with it and ready to start trying on some mock-up stationary etc. However, whenever I re-size it using the Shift key and dragging the corners in it all goes a bit wrong. The text size doesn't change so ends up massively out of proportion, the shapes Ive created don't decrease in size as they should and it ends up looking a right mess. I'm new to the whole design world and still finding my feet. What is the best process for designing, creating a logo that will go across a multitude of products (Stationary, websites etc) and what is the best way to transfer it onto mock ups without destroying the logo when re-siziing it. Regards Mark
  19. Hi guys, Latest project made entirely in affinity. Except the gif animation. https://www.behance.net/gallery/33966100/FoodJunky-Application-Design-Concept Cheers, Vlad
  20. Hello, I am a recent "convert" to the Affinity line of apps. I'm loving the potential to get out of the grips of the "giant" in the industry and be able to once more afford to be a designer. The software so far is outstanding and I'm sure it will only get better from here. That being said, it's increasingly becoming a mobile world, and now with iPad Pro available, will we be seeing mobile versions of Photo and Designer anytime soon? I believe that would be an amazing game-changer, especially in light of the fact that the Photoshop "versions" of apps available for iPad are mediocre at best, and useless for real work. Keeping my fingers crossed that this wish will come true very soon! -Glo MacDonald
  21. Hello! I am a mobile game artist and designer. I have always been using Illustrator, but have recently discovered Affinity and I am completely blown away by its capabilities and speed! I have the 10 day trial, but after everything I have seen and done with the program, I will be making the full purchase upgrade right after I am done posting this example. Here is just an peek of a couple ideas I have been playing around with, which eventually will be a fully usable and customizable GUI Asset Sheet for people to use in their own games and apps. This program is amazing, and I cant wait to dive a lot further into it! :) Thanks for your time.
