My brush (default brush) doesnt blend with itself, if I use the brush outside the radius of a previous stroke it acts as if there was a wall preventing it from layering over (figure 1). If I stay within the border of the previous stroke, it keeps the "ink" from going past its edge/border (figure 2). Is there a way to turn this off, its extremely irritating because I have to make a new layer for each stroke to bypass this. Help! -
Hello, I am just starting my new Project.. and try to realize it with Affinity Designer... I've tried to rebuild to Elements I have seen on other Watchfaces… because I would like to use them in my own watchface... But unfortunately.. my skills with AD and my creativity ) isn't that good… so Maybe some of you could support me somehow and show me a better way to realize my too Images.. and to help me improve my skills with AD. One is the outer ring (like in the IMG_4816 and the other thing is the "Tag" (or however you would name it).. Thanks in Advance... With Kind regards from Germany... I’ve noticed that there are some pages "missing" from the Photo Help (1.7 on Windows) and the Online Documentation (1.7): Get Started → Scanning Images Get Started → Gestures Develop Persona → Location Panel Sharing → Share When I say “missing” I mean that the link in the contents takes me to a blank page. I don’t know if some content is actually missing or whether these things shouldn’t have a link in the contents in the first place. -
Hey guys, I'm not sure if Affintiy Designer can do this but there are 2 really simple features in Illustrator that I'm hoping I can do in Affinity Designer. 1. Rectangle tool - In illustrator you can just select the rectangle tool and click anywhere on an art board and it will give you a window prompt to create the rectangle or circle you need. Is this possible in Affinity Designer?? (see attached) 2. Move Feature - In Illustrator there is the move option (MAC -Shift +command+M) which gives you control on moving an object on your art board. Is this feature available in some capacity in Affinity Designer? (see attachment) Thanks in advance- 5 replies

I create greeting cards in affinity designer and get them ready for print. I make 2 artboards with bleed, and export them in PDF format. However when i check the file it shows part of the document completely blank. I've tried changing settings and export methods but it keeps on exporting a blank page. Is there a way to fix this? Does anyone know what's causing this? The full file: (i blacked out the designs for the screenshot) And this is what the PDF looks like: Completely blank.. -
I purchased affinity photo on the mac app store and am wondering if I could transport it to my pc. I can't find the download when I go to my downloads and keys tab. Please help. -
Hey! Just wanted to get answer to this simple question, as there is a 20% discount now and I don't wanna miss it. If you buy any Affinity product after the trial, is it linked to you somehow? Maybe through an email or something? Or is it just linked to the PC? I am asking this because I plan on getting a new one soon and I certainly don't wanna buy Affinity license twice. When I click on Help --> Affinity Photo Help (F1) apart from a small icon opening on the windows tray nothing else happens. There is no Help window displayed. version 1.7.1.404 -
How do you guys easily color a shape? With shape builder it's extremely easy, all you have to do is select the correct objects and then press the shape within the object and then color it. Obviously you can't do that with Affinity Designer, but what are some easy alternative ways? -
hello guys, i got a problem with my installation of Affinity Design (free trial). everytime i install it, i get an failed setup command.(in german Fehler beim setup) i read something in the forum about i need the newest version of microsoft .NET but i already installed it before and it doesnt work. pls help me. i want to buy this software in the future thx for help. regards Rumdopf -
No those gray boxes were not there in my design. No i cannot get rid of them as they seem to be attached to existing layers. I hope downgrading can save my designs at this point! -
Was hoping there would be an import and insert option, but I'm not seeing it anywhere. I've found the Place option, but I'd really rather not have to insert a doc page-by-page. Any help would be greatly appreciated! -
Hi there! First thanks for reading my query, I really appreciate that. To my issue: I'm having problems exporting .svg files as (for example) .png files. They show me some weird lines around each vector - which shouldn't be the case really. Worst thing is that you can see that in the final result, rendering the product/effort almost useless. I will provide an example in the attachments, but what I do is just opening (or placing) the .svg file - resizing it - exporting it (with the PNG-24 preset). I'm using "Vector magic" to create these .svgs and they seem fine in the preview, as well as the .png exported from vector magic. Problem is as soon as I open the .svg in affinity designer (in order to edit them) hell breaks loose Thank you so much for helping me! Hi, I have just downloaded 1.7 to my iMac and can't move any further. When I right clicked the downloaded file it took me to the App Store and I had to buy RAR extractor. This isn't telling me how to download the update. It says open archive file, when I do it still dose. not open the file. Have never had this problem with previous updates. Please help Mikep -
I was just doing the shading on an image and then my tools began to stop. It works when I open a new file, but it doesn't work on the current file. The fill option still works but I cannot change the line color..what the hell could cause this problem? -
Greetings Community! I have to work on an isometric design. I've learned that AD offers custom grid lines, so I wanted to explore these. When I go to "View" --> "Grid and Axis Manager..." and have "Show grid" & "Use automatic grid" checked, I see the standart grid being visible. Nice. However, when I uncheck "Use automatic grid" and choose "Mode: Advanced", the grid goes invisible and no matter what grid type I select, I don't get back any grid / visual feedback. I followed a youtuber doing this and he got instant results, based on the Grid type. I can't see why it wouldn't work for me. What did I miss? Cheers! -
I bought Affinity Photo for windows and it came with the Macro Pack. I followed the directions to install them but the program only looks for Macro (.afmacro) files not (.afmacros) which is what the files are named in the pack that I got. I changed the name and removed the (s) the program then sees it as an option but when I try to import it nothing happens. -
I wanted to start a topic for everyone new to affinity designer who's working through the work book or just teaching them selves the basics to upload your highs, lows struggle and flow of your progress or any help some of the senior users would be more than welcomed

On all applications the help window will NOT display.. It used to be the case that one must select English (UK) to display help, but neither version of English will permit the display of any help screens. A window opens, but nothing is shown. -
So there's a setting in Photoshop called transfer that I use religiously. Is there a setting in Affinity (or is a setting being planned in a future update) that I can use that would produce something similar?? I found another thread about this but I'm looking for more recent answers.... I tried setting "flow" to be affected by pen pressure, but the result is too different from what I'm looking for. I'd also be okay with a Photoshop plugin of... some sort, that might allow me to do something similar... I'm just so desperate for Affinity Photo to replace Photoshop for me. I refuse to pay monthly for something I wouldn't use monthly! Anything helps -
Has anyone of you lovely people experienced issues with guides? They used to work ok - a bit buggy, but now they're completely broken. If anyone has a hack to unlock artboard guides on ipad pro I'd be so grateful! When I navigate to guides>show guides I can't move any of the existing guides, the only function I can perform is to add new guides - but even though I can add guides, these cannot be moved by hand/apple pencil (only by adjusting coordinates). Hi loves! Super affinity designer newbie. I make logos for clients & for some reason having a hard time exporting to SVG.. I’ve sliced before on most of my designs & I usually have to do it a few times until it magically works. The specific design I created is like another I did & the SVG export worked. For some reason I can’t figure it out. I bought the book & super love it... but it doesn’t go into a lot of detail about exporting sadly. Please help. I will add file & hopefully someone can get it! I know I’m doing something wrong if I have to try to 20 times before not knowing what I did right. Haha. Thanks so so much! Untitled Copy_10.afdesign -
