  1. I've run into some very strange behavior in Affinity Designer 1.7.3 on macOS that I finally figured out was caused by how symbol instances handle rearranging (moving back/forth), which might be by design I guess, but have such strange and unpredictable consequences I'm considering them a bug: It seems that when using symbols and selecting once instance of the symbol and pressing the "Move to front" or "Move to back" rearrange buttons this somehow applies to all instances of the same symbol. I'm guessing that this is more or less never what the user intends when trying to move a single selected object back/forward and it's very unexpected. This is further complicated by the fact that the canvas isn't redrawn properly for the other instances of the same symbol when this happens, so you only see that they've been moved back/forward if you scroll or otherwise cause them to be redrawn. And as the final problem, the arrange can't be undone. The problems seem to be especially bad when the other layers being rearranged are also symbol instances. So, together this more or less means you currently can't use the arrange feature on symbols and instead you have to manually drag the layers in the layers panel to re-arrange them if you want different instances of the same symbol on different levels. 2. The Auto Distribute options under Arrange panel is disabled. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong, or if this is a bug. How do I enable it? I am using the free trial v1.4 i believe on OS X 10.11.3. Kindly help.
  3. Hey everybody, I am currently looking for the function to arrange file windows (or different views of a file) in Affinity Publisher. I know this feature was available in Photoshop, where I used it every day. Are there plans to add a similar feature to the Affinity Range? That would be great! In Photoshop there are the following arrangement options to choose from: Arrange → Cascade Arrange → Tile Arrange → Float in Window Arrange → Float All in Window Arrange → Consolidate All to Tabs If there's already a topic about this I'm sorry, I couldn't find it. Greetings MrDoodlezz
  4. Hi! I have several hundred (~500) different SVG files, all square icons with designs on them. I'd like to arrange them all in one big document, with an equal amount of space between them, so that I can print it as a poster. Other than doing it manually and copying/pasting each icon into the "master" document, is there any way I can somehow script it or just open all the SVG files at once and tell Designer "Combine and arrange these"? Also, is it even possible for me to add that many nodes to one document without crashing my computer? I have a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 with 16GB RAM.
  5. I m a fairly new user of Affinity and still learning the many features of the program, but am enjoying the experience nonetheless. There is one area that is causing me some frustration. When I open a raw file (select, File., open and file that I have exported to Affinity specific folder), I can perform most editing functions from the options on the right panel. However, after watching I training video about using a layer and sharpening mask i went to open either "Layer" or "Filter" from pull down menu, but both options were not present. Without a file open, My menu shows from left to right: File, Edit, Text, Layer, Document, Select, Arrange, Filters, View, Window, Help. With a file open the Menu show: File, Edit, View, Window, Help. (see attached screen shot) Of course with the few options I am limited to what I can do. Any ideas? All options on Studio are checked and have been reset, but I understand they relate to the right panel anyway. Any help would be most welcome.
  6. Please add the option “optically” for arranging/aligning objects and texts optically. Not the easiest thing to add, but optical alignment of objects would be probably unique.
  7. let's say I have three objects; object A, object B and object C. I want object A above object B, object B above object C and object C above object A in the layer. Is it possible to have circular layer instead of linear layer?
  8. I just started using the trial version of Designer. I am trying to create simple flower designs; think petals of a certain shape (perhaps teardrop) arranged around a center circle. Is there a tool, command or procedure to evenly arrange objects around a circle? Of course I would want the objects to radiate from the center of the circle. So the procedure would need to rotate the object and then distribute it. Thanks
