I am new one and probably my work is not perfect. I just try what all i can do or not with affinity.

Sympetrum flaveolum commonly known as a yellow winged darter. I started this ages ago and stopped a few times as I got bored with it due to it being so fiddly. I adjusted it a bit to get rid of some ugly flare. Too much effort for what it is but oh well. The outlines looks like a black mess so I've just shown a section.

My first creation using my new XP-Pen Artist 13.3 Pro. Very pleased with this piece of kit and impressed at how must it speeds up the whole process. Not sure how to deal with all these fine brush strokes though? Already caused the program to lock up once last night and file size heading towards 100MB? There must be a way to flatten or something? I tried adding all the brushes in each layer together into one layer, but that ended up increasing the file size and running a bit slow..

Freshly drawn cherries all done in Affinity Designer. Not happy with the leaves I'm going to re do them tomorrow.

Taken last Sunday while walking, cropped using Pixelmator Pro against a black background and finalized using Affinity Photo.

I took this image years ago on my 7mp phone camera and dug it out of my collection a few days ago. It's my first time editing something with this much colour and I'm still an amature. Thoughts and feedback appreciated!

First image I edited and imported in affinity photo. Shot using a Canon PowerShot SX620HS with the CHDK. Thoughts and feedback appreciated!

I found this inside a 30" piece of PVC pipe. It was about 12" in, and my 18-55 kit lense was too short, while my 70-300 lens was too long even though it doubles as a macro lens. Fortunately no more residents, except for the one who didn't make it. Guess he was a dud. Cut out the nest which was easy. It was already round and separated from the inner diameter of the pipe by at least 1/4" all the way round. Placed two fill layers below, added a mask to the black layer with the opacity of the center being reduced until I got the glow I wanted.

Bright bird on a branch. Upsplash photo reference. Still trying to develop technique. The branch with buds and flower are rough and sort of impressionistic with the most detail reserved for the bird to draw attention and focus.

Finally, all the albino brain chiggers are gone (we had about 14" - 18" of that white junk fall here in southeast Arkansas last week) and it's safe to go outside again. The only positive about the whole mess was I got to stand in the doorway and watch the birds and squirrels consuming what we put out for them. Since I won't venture out far in that stuff, the "goodies" were near my front door. Got some interesting images processed in Affinity Photo.

I am a fan of this program. I mostly use Fokus Stacking and HDR functions. Here's an exemple, others are in my Gallery in Insta @macrophoto_studio1

Trying out some extension tubes for my Canon camera about a week ago when this fella showed up. Now, male carpenter bees are not able to sting, even though they will make aggressive passes at you. Think it came out okay for an overcast day.

Spent a couple of weeks in the hospital recently. Among other problems, I was afraid I was losing my eyesight due to severe complications resulting in internal bleeding. The doctors sent me home with a blood count of 6.1 and some medications that made my problems worse. Thank goodness for the Home Healthcare Nurse who took the time to study my discharge papers and find the "stop this medication" notices kind of hidden there. In 2 days I lost almost 20 pounds of fluid and the top of my feet stopped hurting when I walked. Enough depressing stuff! This image uses two photographs. One is a bit of concrete that had an interesting pattern and the other was of some dahlia flowers in our garde. I used "blend-if", a color fill layer using soft light blend mode and a duplicate fill layer using subtract blend mode. To finish it off, added a bit of gausian noise. Was going for a sort of watercolor feel.
