  1. Unfortunately not, however Spotlight will have a regular newsletter showcasing the latest and greatest articles We plan on adding further features to Spotlight in the future, and I will ensure your voice is heard in terms of implementing an RSS feed!
  2. Apologies for not being clearer, the .exe should be in the Resources root folder as below: I would recommend uninstalling the software and reinstalling it with any third party antivirus disabled and administrator rights enabled if this exe is not visible, as it appears to have been blocked or removed by either the installer or a third party program.
  3. Thank you for confirming that. This isn't a setting within Affinity, however our EXIF data tool runs as a separate process from AP. This would indicate that exiftool.exe is either failing to run, or is being blocked by a third party program. Could you please go to C:\Program Files\Affinity\Affinity Photo\Resources and check for the aforementioned exe? Please try executing this as a standalone process. Does it open correctly? Do you have any third party malware protection that could be stopping this? I would recommend adding both Affinity Photo and exiftool to it's white-list if possible.
  4. Same here, could you please open Help > About and let me know which version of Affinity Photo is currently running? I must admit, I am running in a Windows 10 environment but this should not be a causation. I can however see in the .afphoto file that there is no camera data, perhaps try opening the .NEF file again, after restarting the program?
  5. Hi Leiski, Welcome to the forums Currently there is no way to batch develop raw images, but this has been requested previously in our forums here. However you can record macros to apply adjustments to a batch of images post-development, which may work for your workflow, see this video for further details.
  6. Sorry to hear it, If possible could you provide me with any files in question so I can look into this further for you? If you would rather not post it here publicly feel free to send me a private message.
  7. Hi tonyt3rry With the apps open, could you please go to Help > About and tell me both version numbers of your software? They should begin 1.6...
  8. Hi Ray, Unfortunately as I previously described, you cannot use the Mac app version on an iPad or iPhone. There may be third party apps that link your Mac and iPad applications, but these are not supported by Affinity, apologies.
  9. I am aware of of extended display apps, but had not even considered it as an input... learn something new, hey! Me too, but I never say never
  10. Thanks for confirming that! Both your camera and lens are supported, so no issues there. With your image open in the develop persona, data can be found in the areas highlighted below. I hope this helps!
  11. Hi Kevin, May I ask what camera and lens you are using? Are you using Affinity on Windows or Mac?
  12. Hi Henry_m, Welcome to the forums An image can only be exported in terms of pixel size, as external factors will alter how an image is displayed such as DPI and resolution and therefore a scale cannot always be guaranteed. If the JPEG is already 'to scale' in terms of your monitor, then you can open the image in Affinity Photo and go to File > Export and select the TIFF option. The resolution will be kept as the original and so the size of the photo will not change. You can see more on exporting in Affinity here!
  13. Hi LuccasGreco, Welcome to the forums! I'd recommend using Filters > Colours > Erase White Paper if you are using Affinity Photo. You could also try using Blend Options (the cog icon next to the Blend Mode in the layers panel) until you find the desired effect, seen in this post by @MEB Also, I personally like the ripped design but I'm not much of a creative so would struggle to offer improvement suggestions, other than perhaps a few less rips so that the design is more prevalent?
  14. No problem Ray. I'm sorry, which software are you referring to? I'm not aware of any software that can use a Mac Affinity app on an iPad, but I may be incorrect. I'm sorry to hear it, but it certainly sounds like an interesting hobby to take up and I wish you the best of luck! Dan
  15. This means that they are most likely being sharpened along with a few other lens corrections by the Apple engine, but to Apples standards and not ours.
  16. Sorry! You're correct, there's no develop assistant in the iPad version of the app. This is due to us utilising Apple Core, the Apple specific RAW engine which is built into all Apple products. On the desktop Mac version, you have the choice between Serif Labs and Apple Core as your RAW engine. Using Serif Labs (developed by us) allows you to control if the corrections are applied automatically. Once you switch to Apple Core, these choices are locked, as Apple don't allow you to make this choice and the engine applies whatever it can automatically. I can assume Apple has done this to ensure a generalisation across Apps and devices. The iPad version of Affinity only supports Apple Core, so these options are locked to being on unfortunately, hence no develop assistant. Apologies again!
  17. Hi Cheesmeet, Welcome to the forums! You can use merge visible layers as you have mentioned, which is a non destructive way of merging multiple layers to one new pixel layer. Another option is to go to Document > Flatten, however this will merge ALL layers together into one rasterised pixel layer. Also, you can select multiple layers, group them together and then rasterise them, giving you more control than Flatten but this is destructive.
  18. Hi chapolote, No problem, your English is much better than any of my foreign language skills! If you go to the Colour studio and select the 3 line 'burger' menu in the top right corner, you should be provided with 4 options. Select 'Tint' here, then select the object you wish to know the Pantone colour of, this will display below the tint slider
  19. I've sent you a direct message with a dropbox link, so that you can send us a few files directly It is, and you can choose to turn this off if you wish. The RAW+JPEG files (and JPEG only) have the post processing applied by your camera, meaning that outside of Affinity in the photos library, the images will look sharp. For the same reason, RAW only files may look blurry in your photos library, as your camera has not applied any additional processing to the image. However, once you load the image into Affinity Photos Develop Persona it automatically applies some processing corrections and effects, meaning your image will look sharp... Don't worry, you're not going crazy! If you go to the Develop Persona and click on the Develop Assistant option in the top toolbar, you can choose to turn these options off, if you want to manually do these corrections. You can also leave these corrections on and then manually edit the changes as normal, the choice is yours. The main reasons I know of to shoot in both formats is as follows: Almost guaranteed compatibility - Pretty much any program reads JPEGs, but for any editors that support RAW, you have additional scope. Instant access - Should you need an image directly after shooting, you don't need to be carrying around your editing software just to access the file. Why not? - JPEG files take up little room in comparison and only slow the camera down slightly in terms of processing, so why not!
  20. Hi Peter, Apologies for not updating the thread! I'm happy to confirm that Affinity Photo works as wonderfully as ever with the new iPad, including pencil support. I've found a thread of a few users discussing it here. Hope this helps!
  21. Hi Denny, We appreciate your detailed interest and I'll move this thread to our features request section so that our devs are aware of the concerns and possible solutions! Perhaps @James Ritson could look into the documentation regarding saving and make any changes where necessary, as we will always do our best to make our app as user friendly as possible
  22. Thanks for confirming that, I have downloaded some A6500 sample RAWs to an iPad and opened them in the app, and all have opened as expected. However I do not have any images in RAW+JPEG format currently. If possible, could you provide me with a few samples? Could you please navigate the app to 'Import from Photos' and in the file menu find an image that is both RAW+JPEG from your camera, does the 'RAW' tag show in the bottom right hand corner of all your images in this format, as such?
  23. No problem at all, I'll take a look into this and double check with our devs if this is working as expected, or if we can fix something. Glad I could help
  24. Hi emcampbell, Welcome to the forums! Unfortunately, Affinity file recovery is only useful when the application crashes (quits unexpectedly) and open documents are being processed. When the application closes normally and a file is closed, the temporary file (s) containing the recovery information are deleted. This information can not be retrieved and Affinity does not store the auto backup information as a normal document file, so could neither be found nor can be opened as if they were regular saved files. My sincerest apologies for any work you may have lost.
  25. Firstly, I have to say that you're a very talented artist and I'm rather jealous! Secondly, if you open the fx panel without having anything selected, then select all of your layers, objects and groups in the layers tab, you can apply Scale with Object here and it should apply to any layers that previously did or did not have this selected.
