  1. I still seem to have this problem on Mac (M1 Pro) with the 1.10.4 version. I bought Publisher in the Serif Store and Photo and Designer in the Mac App Store and they both seem to have the problem.
  2. I just noticed you added a "select same" option and this is one of the few functionalities I still missed in Designer. Can't wait for a stable release and keep up the amazing work!
  3. Hi William, Thanks for reaching out! I delivered one pdf-file (completely vector, all fonts expanded, scale 1:1) straight from Affinity Designer to the company that produced the mesh-banner. They didn't call me, so I assume they had no problems with the file. The tour only passes tomorrow, but I noticed that the council of Overijse already replaced the banner with a new one to announce the next town-event on national television, so there won't be any pictures of racers with the banner in the background (I really hoped for it myself!).
  4. This Saturday the Tour De France starts in Brussels and races trough my hometown (Overijse, Belgium). I made a huge banner (20 meter x 2,5 meter) completely in Designer. More of the designs and details can be seen on my website: https://www.willempirquin.be/portfolio/tour-de-france-druivenstreek/ (Also, 90% of all work on my website is made in Designer).
  5. I use Illustrator less and less, but this is one feature from Illustrator that I really miss in Designer. Illustrator has the option in the "select"-menu to automatically select objects with similar properties as the one selected (see screenshot). This comes in very handy if you want to convert all your 2 pt strokes to 3 pt strokes or something similar. Maybe there already is a way this can be done in Affinity Designer now, but I couldn't find it.
  6. I make a lot of isometric illustrations, so I the isometric pane makes my life so much easier (thanks for that!). But It would be even better if the isometric window could also be shown in the pixel persona so you could switch planes and lock drawing angles to the isometric grid while making the sketch for a vector drawing.
  7. Good suggestion! I'd also love this because then you could edit difficult surfaces on a flat plain and then turn it into isometric again when you're done detailing.
  8. MikeW: I outlined the stokes in Illustrator (Designer makes too much unneeded anchorpoints when outlining complex curves). and I adjusted the colors. This works a lot faster in Illustrator since designer has no "select same color"-options.
  9. Hi All, I just finished an illustration that will be screenprinted on tote bags to promote local shopping in the village of Hoeilaart (Belgium). The text reads 'I buy in Hoeilaart' (in Dutch). The town is know for their traditional grapes grown in greenhouses, horseback riding and the statue of a well known Belgian comic book hero called "Nero". Everything is done in Affinity Designer. I had to export to illustrator (CS6) to do some final technical tweaks before I could send it to the printer. Hope you like it!
  10. Thanks for all your kind comments! The drawing is approved by my client so it's on my website where you can see a lot more details: http://www.willempirquin.be/en/portfolio/acv-gelijkheid-maakt-het-verschil/ Thumps up for the Affinity-team! The export persona is the biggest timesaver in years.
  11. Hi All, I used Affinity Designer, from start to finish to make this huge illustration for the upcoming event of a Belgian union (ACV), the text reads "equality makes the difference". Designer worked great on this one (Isometric grids! Infinite zoom! Global Colors!) and I plan on using it way more often for client work. Keep up the good work!
  12. Today I was thinking about a totally non-essential function, but a very nice-to-have that seems very possible to me. I think it would be great if we where able to make time-lapse making-of video's of our work directly in Affinity. Since there is an unlimited history, it should be possible to write a script that returns one step and writes the image to a folder for every step in the history-list. Then it's only a matter of stitching these images together in reverse-order as a .mov and there you have your timelapse-movie. The second part can even be done in Automator as long as we would be able to generate the png-sequence. See: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/70224/automating-quicktime-image-sequence-creation-in-mountain-lion I know this is not an essential task at all, but I think it would be great to be able to show the world how we do things in Affinity. Having this function could generate considerably more buzz online. Anyway, I hope you like the idea!
  13. Some new (non isometric) illustrations that fit the theme:
  14. I'm making isometric illustrations for quite a while now. I used to make them in Photoshop/Illustrator, but since Affinity introduced Isometric grids my life got way easier. The idea is to make some screenprints of these illustrations someday (hence the limited colorpalette). I really look forward to hear what you think about them! Willem
  15. Hey PaulB, Maybe we can compare our fontlibraries to find the culprit :D. Glad to hear that my problem solved someone else's!
  16. Hy Matt, I hope I can discover which font caused the problem, but I'm afraid we might never know :) It's just suspicious it happened right after the update to El Capitan. Maybe the new system font has something to do with it? Or the font-permission-things changed in the new OSx? What is the font used in Affinity? Maybe I have a different version of that font activated (I know this used to cause a crash in After Effects years ago). All the best from Belgium, Willem
  17. Hey MattP, Extra update: I tried disabling all non-system-fonts in Fontexplorer Pro and everything works fine again, so there is a font that's not playing nicely with Affinity. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! All the best, Willem
  18. Hey MattP, Thanks for looking into it! I can't find any problems in Font Book, but I use FontExplorer Pro as font manager: http://www.fontexplorerx.com I cleared all font caches with fontexplorer, but nu luck. Can Fontexplorer be the cause of the problem? I can try to uninstall, but that would mean I'd loose a lot of my font organisation. But I 'll try if you think this might cause the problem. Thanks for your advice, Willem
  19. Hi MEB, These are the crashreports for both Designer and Photo: Crashreport_designer.rtf Crashreport_photo.rtf Hope you can use them! All the best, Willem
  20. Hi Jack, Thanks for your quick reply. I downloaded beta's, but the problem persists (and looks exactly the same...) Any other ideas? Willem
  21. Hello, This morning I upgraded my MBPretina (Mid 2012) to the official release version of El Capitan and now bot Affinity Photo and Designer stopped both working. When I try to boot them I get this message: What I tried so far: • Reinstalling both Photo and Designer from the MAS • Resetting the apps by CTRL-click-opening them and resetting all userdata It seems that this is not a common problem since I seem to be the only one with this problem. Any tips or ideas how I can solve this? I'll be glad to give you more info if needed. Thanks, Willem
  22. Hello, I am Willem Pirquin. An Antwerp (Belgium) freelance illustrator and animator. At the moment I make a lot of Isometric illustrations (mostly in Illustrator and Photoshop), but Affinity seems very promising in this field, so I would love to be able to switch to Affinity completely.
