Works for me.

See attached screen recording. I have the option Select object when intersects with selection marquee turned on. When I try to select both of the objects on my canvas, the selection only applies to one of them. It seems that the object that happens to have a color adjustment applied can only be selected by including the entire object, contrary to the setting. Edit: Attached afdesign document. In Affinity Photo, when editing a brush, you can choose the associated tool. This is very useful (at least for me) when drawing or sketching. Once I've set my brush the way I like it, I duplicate it and set the associated tool for the duplicate to the eraser tool. This way I can draw and erase without messing up the look and characteristics of my lines. My question is: why is this option not present in the pixel persona in Affinity Designer? It seems to me that it would be equally useful in both apps. I would like to use Designer more for sketching and drawing, but the lack of this option makes this more difficult for me. Thanks!

I'm using Affinity Designer 1.9.1 on Mac and at least some of my keyboard shortcuts revert back to the retarded way after each restart of the app. I want to throw up every time I hit B and the stupid pixel tool is selected instead of the brush (B for brush is not rocket science). I keep deleting the shortcut for the pixel tool but the next time I launch the app, it's back, completely F**king up my workflow as I try to draw and get a weird line instead of the stroke I'm expecting to get from my brush. Does anyone know what's up with this? Thanks!

Expanding stroke breaks corner
Andy900 replied to Andy900's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hmm... Perhaps it's back to Adobe for me yet again I keep trying the Affinity stuff every year or so to see if they're catching up, but I keep running into very basic things like this not working properly. Maybe next year, huh? Thanks so much Alfred for figuring this out! -

Expanding stroke breaks corner

Here's one file from before and one from after expanding the stroke. Before.afdesign After.afdesign -
The bug remains where if you use divide for two overlapping objects and then add to combine parts of the new objects, a bunch of anchor points appear where the joints would be. How is this still not fixed? There's no shapebuilder tool because "geometry tools are sufficient for the task" and those geometry tools are this bad? Still. Really? Is this app supposed to get even close to the abilities of Illustrator any time soon?

Brush in overlay blend mode
Andy900 replied to Andy900's topic in Feedback for Affinity Photo V1 on Desktop
In Photoshop, setting the brush to overlay and painting on a mask brightens the bright parts and darkens the dark parts. This helps getting rid of fringes and other noise at the edge of the masked areas. In Affinity Photo, setting the brush to overlay has no particular effect. -
Here's a clear example by the way. I tried the green grass to see if there's a difference but I'm getting the same problem. I could make a mask first and then go to refine, but I still can't use matte edges (and can't use the matte brush - like I want to). Channel Mask A (kopia).afphoto

Is there a reason we can't use a brush in overlay blend mode to clean up edges of masks, like we can in Photoshop?
