I tried this on MacOS, but when I reopened Designer it deleted everything in the new assets.propcol file again. [Correction: the file was reduced to mere kbs, but somehow the assets are once again visible. Thank God. Ridiculous! I need some chocolate.] Also, this bug caused the left studio in all 3 apps to disappear. This is crazy levels of unacceptable.

I lost all my assets as well. I'm on Mac and simply allowed Photo to update how it wanted to. Where can I find my assets? According to File Manager info, the assets file was erased at 10:32 am this morning. That was two days after I updated Photo and a week or more after I had updated and used the other apps multiple times. What is going on? My left studio window also closed by itself on all apps. Just disappeared. This is unacceptable.

Affinity Designer 2 for macOS - (2.5.6/7)
Celia at Grafted Works replied to Patrick Connor's topic in News and Information
I have the same issue. -
I run into this issue constantly! My printer gets very upset about the massive PDFs I send him. At this point, I'm 85% convinced I need to go back to Adobe because of several PDF export issues, including the file size. As I work on increasingly high-profile projects, the risk of some weird issue being introduced by these lingering Affinity problems is freaking me out. I'm not happy about it, because the Affinity apps are so much easier to use, but top-quality results are more of a priority than my user experience.

I stand corrected. It's still annoying that that feature is not consistently present across the suite!

Photo and Designer had metadata panels in V1. I'm not sure why they were removed, but it's annoying!

I hate Canva so much. Sure, they "democratized" design, and now there's even more horrible design assaulting the eyes. They have an uphill battle to fight to win over professional, high-end designers. I would honestly go to Adobe before admitting I use a Canva product. Fix that market perception, Canva. Adobe says professional (if stodgy and stuck up) and Canva says amateur and unconsidered. Change my mind, Canva.

Can't Batch Place with Alt+Click
Celia at Grafted Works replied to Celia at Grafted Works's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
I still have a variation of this issue and the solution from @GaryLearnTech doesn't work. Whether I release the mouse over a blank area on a page or over a frame on a page, only one image is placed (the last image in the list selected, coincidentally). None of the images load into the place images panel. I'm ready to believe it's user error; I just cannot for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong. In the video, please do not get distracted by the fact that the first image is placed in an already occupied frame. Occupied or empty, I get the same result. I've also tried switching to Publisher by swiping with three fingers versus the Cmd+Tab shortcut and I get the same result with both of those as well. Help, please! affinity suite The Last Sortie

Um... this is so cool! Could pass for movie/video game concept art. Did you add some bitmaps for textures like the lights and the planet surface? -
Publisher NOT printing CMYK correctly (still)
Celia at Grafted Works replied to stevenh's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
I don't know a lot about this, so I apologize for the possibly lame questions. I'm concerned that I'm just now learning about this issue when I've been sending client files to print after exporting from Affinity for a couple of years... Is CMYK data lost only when directly printing from Affinity? Or do files exported by Affinity to PDF and printed directly through Acrobat (which I think is what you are saying to do) come out alright? Thanks! -

Transparency Glitches in Publisher
Celia at Grafted Works replied to Celia at Grafted Works's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
@Callum Does your question mean that when you open the pdfs, you aren't seeing these issues? One other thing that I figured out, and is going to save my butt with a client today, is that exporting to PNG or JPEG does not result in these glitches. The first page glitch is the drop shadow suddenly losing transparency and getting jagged on the right end of the document: The second page glitch is the drop shadow is the same issue but around a photo: And a file (attached) that this issue developed on today (also after moving from Designer to Publisher), the drop shadow loses the blur over the photo on the left side: This is a very stressful thing to encounter after working on a project for hours, so I'm really hoping it gets fixed soon. Thanks! 2308-09 Smith.afdesign- 5 replies

Hello, Using Publisher V2.1.1, I have encountered multiple transparency glitches that are only apparent after exporting to PDF. The two attached instances involve an FX drop shadow. My first three or so exports were fine. Then "first page glitch" happened. I added the workaround you can see in "second page glitch" and the export was fine a few times. (Client revisions: RIP). Then "second page glitch" appeared, so I added the same type of workaround for it. The longer I edited and exported the file within Publisher, the more glitches developed on export. (There was another somewhat different glitch later, but my workaround proved better than my initial technique, so I didn't bother saving that glitched version.) I've attached the working files and their corresponding PDFs. "Second page glitch" is the original file that was created in AD and then opened in AP early on. I wondered if the app switch was part of the issue (even though the glitches appeared after several successful exports in AP), so I saved a version of the file in AP. Then I undid my workaround (box of the same size with Gaussian blur applied) and reapplied the desired drop shadow FX with the same glitched result. (The client picked the colors.... </3) OS: macOS Ventura 13.5 and 13.5.1 (Updated after glitches occurred, hoping that would solve it. It did not.) hardware acceleration: on Thanks! first page glitch.afpub first page glitch.pdf second page glitch.afdesign second page glitch.pdf

Why? Publisher has greater type controls. Designer has greater vector capabilities. Photo has greater raster/editing capabilities. Implentation could start with Studio Link as it stands in Publisher, with more advanced features available only in the particular app. Ultimately, seamless switching between all 3 FULL apps would be game-changing for many workflows. (Apologies if this has been suggested before. I did some searching and couldn't find a thread on it.)

AI generative Fill in Affinity
