    Price for Publisher

Thank you Affinity - I've just placed my pre-order. Couldn't be happier with Affinity products and your approach to pricing and how to design software Big kudos to you guys !
  2. I open up my latest version of Publisher on Windows, the dialog box comes up saying that there is a newer version of the Beta to download and it proceeds to download the same version as the one already downloaded and installed, i.e. 1.7.0.312.
  3. Seems like a bug to me (I'm using the latest, current Beta version of Publisher); I get thin black line in a PDF where an image (either a jpg or png) has been placed within a Publisher document - please see attached to see how it looks when exported as a PDF.

    Thanks Joachim, that was it.

Yes, this is the issue as I’d mentioned at the start in my 3rd post in this thread (6th post down). When you FLATTEN a pdf, necessary in order to reduce its size for the purposes of portability, you pay the price for that by getting these lines appearing - seems Gabriela didn’t test for this.

Just to let you know that I tried with Carl’s affinity file and I get the problem still. please see attached (I’ve also attached a gif to show the behaviour of this website on my windows 10 pc when I try replying via my computer). Test.pdf

Okay, now I can send this message via my PC - but I tried for at least 10 minutes beforehand and each time I tried, the reply box opened and closed without allowing me to type anything in here first. (and this has happened to me now several times).

Sorry to say that I am still having exactly the same problem as I mentioned originally, so for me it is not fixed at all (shame as I was happy to learn from Gabriela that it was fixed). For information, I am on the latest Beta 1.7.0.283. Export preset PDF Flatten is what I need and chose and the output looks exactly like my first image posted above. I've just noticed that I didn’t mention that my original post that in my case I’m importing pngs with transparency (though I did mention it happens with Jpgs too). by the way, I cannot seem to reply to posts on my windows 10 pc, each time I try, the reply box opens and closes rapidly and I’ve tried this in Chrome and Firefox (this reply was sent via my iPad).
  9. I stayed with PS CS6, and recently I've wanted to have custom patterned (tiled) watermarks over my imagery (there is standalone watermark software out there but none of them can create a separate watermark only layer, they can only output a finished, flattened layer (with image and watermarks combined). On the journey to find a solution within PS, I looked into creating an Action, and during that journey I discovered that from the first edition of the subscribed version of PS (PS CC), a new Brick Fill Pattern became available that gave a dialog box which would allow you to do exactly what I was looking for (see my tiling.jpg example). So, my question; Is there ANY way this kind of action, script, macro can be produced in Affinity Photo ? A tileable watermark would be an incredible addition to this already fantastic piece of software

    Sorry, no can do.

Sounded promising, and I tested your suggestion, but no, it's not that - it's something to do with when rasterising "Everything" (in the PDF Options pre-exporting). If I choose "Everything" (rather than leaving it as "Nothing"), that is when and where the issue presents itself.

It doesn't have a line around it. None of them do.
  13. Seems you cannot invert a mask just like you can easily do in Photoshop. Sometimes it's easier to mask what it is you want by painting it black and then inverting the mask to get that selection to be white (and I'm aware of cntrl+shift+I)).....

Error Msg: Failed to save document

Chris, Whilst we wait for this fix to be available in a new build, is it possible to get around the 'expired' message we now receive on the previous beta version please ? I have 1.7.0.145 installed but it's out of Beta. Many thanks. ****** Scrub that..... I just tried saving my Publisher document and it worked in 1.7.0.162 ??? - wasn't working last week ??!!! ********

    Bugs!!!

I'm getting this same problem - Save, Save As, also tried saving to a completely different hard disk, still won't allow me to save my file.... I'm on Windows 10, PC. I've had to uninstall and reinstall the previous Beta - I'll report back if that now, for whatever reason, refuses to save.....

    Price for Publisher

Why would you guess that it'd be more expensive than the other Affinity products ? My guess is it'll be the same £48.99 as either Photo or Designer, though hopefully they'll offer it with a great discount like Photo (I got my copy of Photo that way for the intro price £29.99 )
  18. This is an essential - I'm surprised Affinity Photo can do soooooo much, but this simple requirement in the Crop Tool is missing ! With constraining just like Photoshop, i.e. Alt, and Alt+Shift. Please can you add this into Affinity Photo Thanks.
  19. Photoshop has a nice touch where if you have done a "PrintScreen" to capture what's on screen, then go to Photoshop and do a Control + N (to create a NEW image), that new image's dimensions will already be set to the size of your PrintScreen dump (i.e the width and height of your monitors). By contrast Affinity Photo doesn't do that at all, but it would be fantastic if it did. Please note, ONLY for when a PrintScreen has been executed (i.e. just like PS).
  20. This software never ceases to amaze me Thank you sooooo much
  21. I don't like the image tabs being the entire width of your work area in Affinity Photo. I prefer that they be of fixed size. Then your eye (and mouse!) wouldn't need to travel irregular, unfamiliar and often long distances (depending on how many images you have open) to find the X (to close them).

    .ai file export

C.Biz - what settings did you export your EPS out as ? I can't get this to work for 3DS Max.
  23. As per the title - non-destructive tone-mapping would be fantastic.
