  1. If it's the same as with the desktop app: you can select the artboard and resize it. But first, ensure the "scale with object" propertie of each strokes is checked. Select your artboard, select the Move Tool, and uncheck "lock children". Select the Artboard tool, and resize the artboard. If you don't have any artboard, resize using "document setup".
  2. @loukash, Interesting, first thing, you don't need pixel and linked layers. Paint directly in black on the Fill layer. Notice that to have an "infinite" Fill layer, you'll have to create it without any prior selection, or it'll be constrain to the document's area like other masks. I wrote a bug report about the different behavior problem of Fill layer (infinite =/= constrain): Another problem with this method, it's only replacing a mask, but won't work with adjustement layers (the problem is more about the way mask, like in adjustement layers and fill layers added from selection misbehave). And at some point, working on files with a lot of layers, I suspect you'll end up confused.
  3. 1.a "Smart app" option: by default add black (Gimp and PS default). It suppose you used a mask on a specific area, and don't want it on the whole document. If you wanted white, selecting the area and inverting the color is easy (adding the ctrl+i option in AD is really needed for masks, and less boring than using a brush to fill some area). 1.b When selecting "Extend to whole area" option: you're prompted with the Fill Panel to choose your option (since it's already existing, why not?). 2.a If the mask "float" in a document: it fill the whole document/page/artboard. Usefull when pasting a mask/adjustement in another document. 2.b If the mask is clipped to an image, it should fill the whole image area. It's possible that later you need to resize the image, and it's anoying to get the dead zone when doing so. Another important point: when using brush or other effect on the mask, it should keep on painting/affecting the whole mask (whole picture area). This way, you can resize the picture later, and the effect is nice, not brutally limited to a small primary visual area (people that had to complete a gradient in a truncated mask will understand). If you select part of the mask, and invert the selection before inverting the color (standard workflow), the whole mask should be affected, not only the visible area. 2.c If a mask/adjustement is inside an artboard: it should only affect this artboard. Outside of this area, it should be "black". If it's above some artboards, it should affect all the ones below (= no area limit in the AD document). It would be nice for the apps to be aware of the mask/adjustement z-index position. 3. See 2.b For this It won't apply when pasting a mask in another document, but sadly, we can't win in each situation. Another option would be to be able to restrict the effect area of a layer/mask to a selected rectangular area. Why? I suppose Gimp work this way to avoid unecessary data and get smaller layers => smaller files. Perhaps it would be usefull for people working on huge documents. It would be an advanced feature, but we would have a choice, and woudln't be limited by apps limiting the areas.
  4. Be carefull with that, you need written consent from people or parents before using their pic, bluring child faces… The pictures should relate to a library, if it feels like a flyer for a summer camp, there's a problem. Look at flyers or mockup/template images online, you'll find nice ideas to reuse in your work. Avoid all those "free" stars everywhere, it looks cheap, and stop people from reading the content since the eyes are draw to those constantly. You can have icons or symbols for main categories, a little paragraph to explain those or add details about their content, and perhaps a specific part for "How to" with some pictures with caption… Also, usually libraries (at least in France), have main sections (books, music, etc.) and sub-sections (adult, young-adult, children). You can advertise about part of them, especially the ones that you think are interesting but not know enough by the public. Depending of you budget, you can also have other flyers by sections. It'll help people usually mainly taking books to learn about the music or the video sections' content, etc.
  5. Hi, An option to extend a mask/adjustement area to the whole document area would be usefull. Another for the mask to be smarter, or asking if I want the "Dead Zone"* to be filled with white or black would be usefull too. The main problem is about the mask area: when copying an Adjustement layer or a Mask in another document of different size, when adding a mask/adjustement on a picture smaller than the artboard or page area, when working in APub Photo persona, adding a mask or adjustement layer, => the area of the mask will only encompass the picture or page/artboard size. If you need to move or resize the picture, you'll end up with white/black zones out of the mask area, and you won't be able to fill them with white/black. Problem: you can't modify those areas, but they affect the whole document. In AP, it's a pain to use tricks to correct this or to create another layer with similar properties but full area effect. In AD and APub, you can only cry and swear... * Dead Zone: the white area that appears on a mask when you resize the picture, and we can't modify (but it's affecting the document). The problem occur mainly when copying a layer from a document to another one, or when creating a new document from clipboard (in which there's a picture with different masks and adjustement layers). Here a file as example. example.afpub
  6. Not in French french… I don't understand where those come from, I didn't even know how to type them before stumbling on them in the Wikipédia page. And never saw them in any book (but we had interesting uses of double quotes in the past, that are sadly unpractical or difficult to reproduce with modern software).
  7. I usually use this site for characters I don't know the code (and not on my french keyboard), to copy, get the HTML code, etc.: https://unicode-table.com/
  8. And I suppose it's logical that the Export Persona is independant, since you can set different parameter to each slices. If it was affecting the other settings of the app each time you modify the options for exporting a slice, it would be a problem.
  9. As I said, those are 2 different panels. The options you choose in one won't affect the other. And for example, if you create a new preset in the standard export panel, it won't be displayed in the Export Persona unless you restart the app.
  10. I understand you, and I tell you that if you use a preset it won't happen. The export panel and the Export persona are 2 different panel, they won't know which options you choose on the other one, that's why using preset is best. *And I get the printer mark if they are checked.
  11. I'm using the same OS*. Save your presets with your options, and select it when needed. This way, the options will be checked each time. *And the Beta vesrion, but it was like this with previous versions too.
  12. Hi @Paul Mc, Which version and OS? When I export from the menu or the Export Persona, when I choose a preset with bleed, it's exported. “Include bleed” is automatically checked if the preset require it. If I create a slice and export using the same preset, the bleed is there too. Same if I add an artboard and export.
  13. @SarahC, I had no problem adding column to your file (in the Beta APub) on Windows.
  14. Strangely, AP Beta 1.9.4.1065 is unable to open this file (loading the file forever, but doesn't prevent to open other files), when last version of AP can. It would be nice to be able to stop the loading instead of needing to kill the app.
  15. HI @SarahC, Can you share the file? Without knowing the width of the page, it's difficult to check if your columns are too wide or not... Do you have problems with older files with columns already set? Apub_4columns.afpub ApubBeta_4columns.afpub
  16. Hi @Suresh Yadav, When you open an EPS and get a lot of layers, look around and search the problem(s). Display/hide the groups to find where it's coming from: problems in the yellow and the green groups. Hide everything, and search the groups... There are 2 large white rectangles. Once hidden or deleted, the design is correct.
  17. Did you checked the image above the text? Give it a 0 value for bottom wrap. To avoid this, you can also modify on the Master Pages the page number frames to avoid wraping. (Those mentions should be smaller too, no need to be larger than the main text).
  18. The context toolbar is usually displayed automatically, I don't know why it wasn't for you. We do minor errors in the begining, and the forum or the Help are here to help. Stay zen, I'm sure each one of us want to forget our first questions after being more familiar with the UI and the features
  19. I never script for QXD, since it was only at work and on OS X... Being able to script in a language that is usable on all systems is very important, so you don't need to do again from scratch in another language when needed for another OS. And I'm currently on Windows (and the fact that we use both OSes at work is important too: scripts should work on both of them)
  20. Interesting, I was coming back to add that exporting to different formats is important too. Long ago, managing a lot of adds was easy: we print them, use cisors to cut them and staple them on the right letters, and send them by mail after printing and sticking labels. New job, new process. They wanted it done by email... and the poor guys had to modify a template to add the ad, the adress, etc. to produce a PDF they could send by email or by mail, eventually. Using scripts in ID was helpfull and shortened a lot the process. One of the script helped archiving the ad's file in the right folder on the server, and permited to export the add in 2 other different formats at other pathes where needed. Another script was able to retrieve images from a folder and adresses from another file to merge them and create pages for each ad with the necessary data. It was able to export them as single PDF pages (or double if created so, when the ad was too big to be with our blablah on a single page). A HTML page was able to generate emails with the ad and main text, since we needed some text to send the PDF with. All this wouldn't have been possible without scripting, of course, but the export panel in ID. That's why it'simportant to add an export persona in APub too. Switching app can help or be usefull, but it won't replace important features needed with the main app (and I suppose for people doing layout, they need important features in APub, not another bunch of tricks).
  21. 10, 50... 200 same problem, and more if you need to correct something in the master pages and do it again. Designer export persona could have been better and usefull in APub too, if some ideas posted were taken in account. I suppose now it's somewhere in the prehistoric part of this forum. Perhaps it's needed as thumbnails, or for other need. The more versatile an app is, the easier you'll solve impossible problems and requests issued by clients and bosses. Most of them... (I don't think it's possible today yet, to get the other façade of a building's picture just because 3D apps exist, but I'll always remember when our boss asked this, and how difficult it was to stay serious and give an answer) .
  22. The problem was 2 gradient map layers, that instead of being black to white gradients, were black to black once the file opened in AP. Those gradients being on top of the embedded files, those weren't visible.
  23. Just a thing: it's Marie-Antoinette (it's a girl)... Marc-Antoine had curly hair too, but shorter!
  24. Avoid force quit, unless nothing else work. You can't switch apps with alt+tab or displaying every opened windows (not sure if it was when putting the cursor ina corner of the screen, but it exists on Windows 10 and OS X)? Can you check in the recovery folders if there's any recent file? (And make a copy of the file, perhaps...)
  25. Hi @Leash, Nothing happen when using the Navigation panel at the bottom right of the app, or do you only have this in full screen? Are you using Windows or OS X?
