Yeah I'm curious to know what's going on. The 1.10 release is quite old at this point. They have been quiet for longer than ever before so hopefully whatever they are up to is worth the wait. Their suite of apps have so much potential to be the leading apps in their respected fields. Just hope they continue to evolve and innovate.

Yeah it surprises me that something so simple does not exist. Maybe they are doing something more complex for the mirror and it's just taking longer to complete... I hope that is the case

[Do Smart Objects Like Feature Exist?]

Does Affinity Photo have a Smart Objects like feature yet? Where I can import a afphoto document one or more times into another afphoto document, and scale/move/rotate it around the doc. Then when i make changes to the original reference document, those changes propagate into my main doc?

How can I lock the handles, so as I drag the 'left handle' the right one simultaneously drags as well, matching the length of the left one?

 

[Offset Pressure Along Path [Affinity Designer]]

Is it possible to offset the Pressure Line Stroke along a path? Optionally is it possible select a point in a path and set it as the first point? That would solve this problem as well.

In this case, as shown in the image below, I want to offset my Pressure about -25% so the thicker part of the line appears more towards the bottom of the letter rather than on the right side.

I develop dozens of plugins for popular 3d softwares such as 3ds max and Maya. I have a lot of experience in developing spline plugins. What I was wondering is the affinity team open to the idea of me porting some of my procedural parametric spline plug-ins for Designer for free? I feel like they are shapes people would find value in. 

If anything I could supply my code to you and let you guys implement it assuming that would be easier.

I would like to call the slice names something like...

{filename}_64x64

But currently there is no token support for filename. Only slice name. Can a new token be added please so i can make a template that is used across several projects where the filename determines the outputs?

I feel that we are missing some fundamental features here in Designer. How does Affinity Designer not have Path Image Tracing or Path Optimizer? It's 2020 and it has these core features missing, features which I seem to think are pivotal for any vector based application. Do they have a timeline or goal for when either of these features may come to beta or public release?

Coming from 10+ years of photoshop, it's become a habit having the ability to press Alt at any given time to active the eye drop and pick a color, followed by releasing of the Alt key then returns the user to the prior tool. Is there any way this can be customized for done in Affinity photo?

Could we add support for assigning colors to layers like photoshop? It just visually helps visually organize and navigate the layers manager.

 

[Shape > Expand To Stroke]

I find myself often times opening Affinity Designer just to copy over a Shape I've made in Affinity Photo, just to use Expand To Stroke, then copying back into photo. Is there any way we could simply add this Shape feature into Photo?
