  1. Why do I have to type *.jpg when I want to see/and open a JPG .... Even in Photo Personal I still have to do this ... Really annoying...
  2. Please, please make the export preview option available for Studio Link, it's a real pain having to open in Designer or Photo to get the export preview feature ....
  3. In Designer and Photo when choosing export => jpeg for example there is a preview button bottom left corner which is useful - When using Studio Link with Publisher, Photo and Designer combined the export preview is button is missing. It;s a pretty important feature ... is it somewhere else or when will it be available?
  4. Adobe Fireworks users are desperate for a viable alternative after being left high and dry by Adobe. Affinity could clean up with a few additional features in Designer. A simple non-destructive perspective tool would be a good starting point .... Check out the Adobe Fireworks forum someone from Affinity and you'll see desperate Fireworks users clinging onto the software and trying to keep it working even though Adobe have not updated it at all since 2013.
  5. Adobe Fireworks users betrayed by Adobe are desperate for a good alternative ... Save for web preview would be invaluable... Fireworks still has the best option of anything out there...
  6. Any way to restrain/ make a perfect arc with the mesh tool or are just relying on good eye, steady hand and guides?
  7. For people who've used Fireworks for many years, this is a very interesting project: https://www.photopea.com/ ... Has both warp and perspective tools and can open layered Fireworks PNGs
  8. If you have to pay a sh*t load of money to Adobe because of core missing features in Affinity then that means it's essential to a hell of a lot of people. A basic perspective tool is a no brainer...
  9. We bought Designer, Photo and Publisher in the hope of a few missing features being forthcoming, but me personally I still use Fireworks CS6 95% of the time due to the lack of perspective tool and one or two other missing features in Designer, I also keep a copy of Adobe illustrator CS6 installed because of the great interoperability between Fireworks, for example I can copy and paste vectors between the two apps if I need to use the warp tools in Illustrator for example. Fireworks has some extensions for opening, importing and exporting SVGs but they are not 100% reliable, so occasionally I sue Designer top open/edit/export SVGs. A simple skew tool like Fireworks has that allows you to drag a corner for a perfect perspective effect would be a game changer for Designer IMO, add some common warp tools like arc, arch and fisheye as well and Adobe would be under serious threat.
  10. Yes, but we're talking about essential missing features that people have been asking for for years, a basic non-destructive perspective tool is a bog standard requirement.
  11. For sure Designer is at the bottom of Affinity's priorities, they had the iPad app, then Publisher and the new Studio Link feature. Affinity Photo for desktop has definitely seen more progress while Designer has been neglected IMO.
  12. In some scenarios/uses output to high-res bitmap is sufficient and then you can keep the native Affinity file for further editing if needed. It really depends on the use, I think what you mean it it's no good for your particular use, some people may not have been aware of the Live Perspective tool and may actually find it useful to retain some kind of editability inside Affinity app of sorts.
  13. OK I see, You can effectively retain editability inside the Afffinity app using the Live Filters, but when you export it will rasterize ... So, if your final export format needs to be a scalable vector its a problem. If your highest quality requirement for export format is as a high res bitmap then it's still very useful to retain editability inside the Affinity App if you need to return and edit further...
  14. I have all three apps Publisher, Photo and Designer and I can use the LIVE Perspective tool in Photo and it does NOT rasterize the object. One you have all three apps you can launch Publisher and the Studio Link feature enables you to switch between Affinity Photo and Designer features from within the one app, so you get the best of both worlds. Maybe the person who's calling me a liar is accessing the Perspective tool from the top menu, that will rasterize the object! - However, the LIVE Perspective (note the word LIVE) tool is accessed from the bottom of the Layers panel in Photo and it is non-destructive. Once you have all three Affinity apps you can use the combined features of both Photo and Designer and you can use the live perspective tool on text, shapes and vectors and they are NOT rasterized ..... The person who thinks they know better, is actually the person who doesn't know what they are talking about here.... ....and yes it's strange that they put a non-destructive perspective tool in a photo editor and did not include it in Designer .... Here's how you access live filters In Photo:
  15. The live perspective tool in Affinity Photo is non-destructive. Text, vectors and shapes and their properties are still editable after applying it - access it from the liver filters icon at the bottom of the layers panel in Affinity Photo.
  16. There is a Live Perspective filter in Affinity Photo that can do this... If you haven't already it might be worth purchasing Affinity Photo and Publisher, then you can switch between Photo and Designer with StudioLink and get the best features from both apps combined... You just launch and work from within Publisher and seamlessly switch switch between Designer and Photo ..
  17. thanks ... I tried converting text to curves but it still reproduces the same glitch
  18. I don't know if this is something I'm doing wrong but applying the live perspective filter then applying a style to text has undesirable results, the style is only applied partially
  19. How do I move too points simultaneously/equally to create a perfectly symmetrical perspective effect.... As far as I can see with the live perspective effect, I can hold down shift to move vertically or horizontally from a single point but not able to move two points simultaneously?
  20. I purchased license for Publisher, Photo & Designer, can I install and use on Macbook & on PC as long as I don;t use at the same time?
  21. How does anyone know, because nobody from Affinity ever comments or lets us know what's going on and if/when it will happen ... Even Adobe are less secretive and better at communication than this ...
  22. Hi, are there any non-destructive free transform & perspective tools in the pipeline for Designer?
