Favourite fonts are not in alphabetic order?
ACDesignStudio replied to Intuos5's topic in V2 Bugs found on Windows
Yes, I was reading some of the new bugs posts re the newest update, 2.6. I might just give up about pursuing this issue and keep moving forward. π- 14 replies

Favourite fonts are not in alphabetic order?
ACDesignStudio replied to Intuos5's topic in V2 Bugs found on Windows
Ok. Thanks again for replying and trying to help. I'm not saying this issue should take precedence over critical issues that affect professional Affinity users. I feel that it could be a fix that could be piggy-backed during one of the more important fixes. I'm not sure I want to quit trying yet, though all that you say makes perfect sense. Maybe I'll send an email and/or start my own thread asking for help.- 14 replies

What do you suggest that I do to take up the cause again and try to get it corrected? Thanks for replying.- 14 replies

Favourite fonts are not in alphabetic order?
ACDesignStudio replied to Intuos5's topic in V2 Bugs found on Windows
Hi Dan C, I updated today and the Favorite Fonts feature has still not been alphabetized like it was originally. There have been several updates since this issue was first shared. I have 131 carefully-selected fonts in Favorite Fonts. I use fonts everyday. I was used to accessing them alphabetically which was highly efficient. Has this not been corrected because not enough users have requested it? Is it too difficult to correct? Has it been designated as not important? It's not like we are asking for a new feature. This is a feature that was somehow corrupted. It is not working like it was so correct function should have been restored a long time ago. Since this is an issue that affects me every time I use Affinity, I am very disappointed. I don't know if this is an issue for Serif or Canva but I am very sad that this happened and angry that it has not been corrected.- 14 replies

I updated to 2.5.5 on 9/3/24, Tues, and was sorry to see that the Fav Fonts list is still not alphabetized like it used to be. I was so looking forward to it. I hope it will be done in the next update. I am using Win10 and was using it before when the list was alphabetized in V1.- 14 replies

affinity photo Bedside Lamp Glow Using Lighting Filter
ACDesignStudio posted a topic in Share your work
I used a bedroom scene mockup, darkened it. Then used the Lighting Filter to turn on the lamp on the bedside table. This is a mockup to highlight my scripture graphic printable wall art. See the after/before pics. Very happy with how it turned out and hope it helps someone who is at my level in designing. It was fun manipulating the width/length of the glow and the direction. Thanks for looking.- 1 reply

affinity publisher My Book Arrived!!!
ACDesignStudio replied to David Battistella's topic in Share your work
Congrats! It looks great! Nice cover. I love APub. I have chosen to become proficient in laying out my books with it rather than the Kindle publishing app. I've saved my first book template. -
Favourite fonts are not in alphabetic order?
ACDesignStudio replied to Intuos5's topic in V2 Bugs found on Windows
But in V1 they were always in order no matter when the font was added or faved. I guess you're saying that something unfortunate happened with V2 regarding the Fav Fonts list. Sounds like you're saying it's been reported and hopefully will be corrected in an update. Thanks for your help.- 14 replies

In V1, all of my Fav Fonts were alphabetized, no matter when I added them or faved them. In V2, they are not. Is there a way that I can alphabetize them? I looked around the apps' interfaces and searched the forums first. Thanks.

Though I haven't felt a need to use Canva, I wish Affinity all the best in this venture. I looked at Canva a few times years ago but chose the route of learning graphic design on my own. I feel more fulfilled creating my own templates and assets. I never had PhotoShop and I first bought Affinity Photo several years ago. I have never been sorry. I love my Affinity V2 Suite and how easily accessible and affordable the apps have been. Thank you, Serif, for all that you have done. I wish you years of continued success!

I believe that I already did that when I added the add-on first, Abstract ABC by Chroma Supply, and then went to the upgrade page and tried to add it and it didn't work. The V2 upgrade seems to be a Buy Now link only. No matter what I've tried, I haven't seen an Add To Cart link from any V2 Upgrade page. I'm a V1 customer so I'm upgrading, not buying the Affinity Suite for the first time. Maybe if that was the case, I could add it to my cart with other products. I've sent an email to customer service. Thanks so much for trying to help.

I started the order for my V2 Upgrade using my email link but couldn't see how to add a desired add-on to my basket. Then, I went to the add-on product page, Abstract ABC by Chroma Supply, added it to my basket/cart but couldn't see how to add the V2 Upgrade. No matter what link I use, there is not an option to add the V2 Upgrade to my cart. Is there a way for me to order these together, in one check-out? Thank you.

I've been on a fixed income for years and have been blessed to get The Suite. Serif provides such regular and deep discounts that Affinity is very affordable to anyone who would like to have it. Even if a person had to save up, it wouldn't take long. Most of my purchases have been at a discount. I love Serif and having the Affinity apps means the world to me. I never thought that I'd be able to have anything like this. The learning and educational resources that are available are also outstanding. I always overview and share the company whenever I see an opportunity around the Net.

FYI For Anyone Interested, download/installation of the .exe files went perfectly. Have been testing the 3 apps without a hitch. Love the new interface! Really, once you see that you don't want to go back. I'll wait a couple of days and then I expect to come onboard with V2! So excited! π€Έπ½ββοΈ

I don't know whether to post here or make a new thread. If I download/install the trial V2 universal pk, do you think that would show me if I would have any problems installing the purchased pk? I have V1 and want to take advantage of the Spring Sale, but now I'm reluctant to. I came to the forum to see what problems might exist with upgrading to V2. I am very computer literate but not professionally-trained. I don't have the heart to go through what @spidermurph did to resolve any issues. Please give your opinion and thank you so much. While my computer is older, Intel Core i3-4150 CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GHz, my system runs perfectly and is compatible for V2: Windows 10 Home, OS Build 19045.4046, RAM 16GB.

This morning when I opened APub and then the document, I tried to export the palette and it worked. For some reason yesterday, when I was still in the session where I had imported the palette, it would not export. Seems that now that APub has been closed and re-opened, it works. I thought maybe it didn't work yesterday because I had altered the imported palette. Thanks for answering so swiftly.

Decided to try APub to design my new project, small wedding planning pkgs. I use AP and AD daily and want to use APub more.
I tried to format my first Amazon book in APub but it didn't work. I didn't want to take time to learn then so I went with Word. I published one book using it but was not impressed.
Now, I'm publishing books through the Kindle Create app. I would like to learn to integrate APub into my KDP publishing so that I can have more control over my book designs. If I can get it to work efficiently I believe I'll love using it for KDP.

What is the equivalent in APub to the Word feature for mirror margin settings? Is the gutter setting in Word the same as the bleed setting in APub? I had wanted to use APub to design my books, especially the heavily-illustrated children's books, for KDP but it seems too complicated. KDP has instructions for Word, so it looks like I'll have to return to using Word. That's where I created the manuscript, exported as PDF then uploaded to APub to add my extensive digital collage illustrations. I reset the layout the best that I could using KDP's Word instructions. Of course, there were problems when I uploaded to Amazon. The problems increased as I tried to correct them. Best course, I think, is to start over with Word only. I can use APub for other things, like my own PDF projects to list at my online shop.
