  1. Though I haven't felt a need to use Canva, I wish Affinity all the best in this venture. I looked at Canva a few times years ago but chose the route of learning graphic design on my own. I feel more fulfilled creating my own templates and assets. I never had PhotoShop and I first bought Affinity Photo several years ago. I have never been sorry. I love my Affinity V2 Suite and how easily accessible and affordable the apps have been. Thank you, Serif, for all that you have done. I wish you years of continued success!
  2. 😊 Not a problem. I can do 2 purchases. I'll be using Paypal to pay. They have the Pay-In-Six-Months w/o interest feature that I like to use. Cart has to be $99+. I am blessed to have the funds, though, and don't need to do that. Thanks for asking.
  3. I believe that I already did that when I added the add-on first, Abstract ABC by Chroma Supply, and then went to the upgrade page and tried to add it and it didn't work. The V2 upgrade seems to be a Buy Now link only. No matter what I've tried, I haven't seen an Add To Cart link from any V2 Upgrade page. I'm a V1 customer so I'm upgrading, not buying the Affinity Suite for the first time. Maybe if that was the case, I could add it to my cart with other products. I've sent an email to customer service. Thanks so much for trying to help.
  4. I started the order for my V2 Upgrade using my email link but couldn't see how to add a desired add-on to my basket. Then, I went to the add-on product page, Abstract ABC by Chroma Supply, added it to my basket/cart but couldn't see how to add the V2 Upgrade. No matter what link I use, there is not an option to add the V2 Upgrade to my cart. Is there a way for me to order these together, in one check-out? Thank you.
  5. I've been on a fixed income for years and have been blessed to get The Suite. Serif provides such regular and deep discounts that Affinity is very affordable to anyone who would like to have it. Even if a person had to save up, it wouldn't take long. Most of my purchases have been at a discount. I love Serif and having the Affinity apps means the world to me. I never thought that I'd be able to have anything like this. The learning and educational resources that are available are also outstanding. I always overview and share the company whenever I see an opportunity around the Net.
  6. FYI For Anyone Interested, download/installation of the .exe files went perfectly. Have been testing the 3 apps without a hitch. Love the new interface! Really, once you see that you don't want to go back. I'll wait a couple of days and then I expect to come onboard with V2! So excited! πŸ€ΈπŸ½β€β™€οΈ
  7. Are you saying that you used the trial versions successfully then bought the pkg? How is it going?
  8. Have downloaded the 3 trial V2 apps and chose .exe. Have searched the forum and the store and can't find an end date for the Spring Sale. Do you know?
  9. I don't know whether to post here or make a new thread. If I download/install the trial V2 universal pk, do you think that would show me if I would have any problems installing the purchased pk? I have V1 and want to take advantage of the Spring Sale, but now I'm reluctant to. I came to the forum to see what problems might exist with upgrading to V2. I am very computer literate but not professionally-trained. I don't have the heart to go through what @spidermurph did to resolve any issues. Please give your opinion and thank you so much. While my computer is older, Intel Core i3-4150 CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GHz, my system runs perfectly and is compatible for V2: Windows 10 Home, OS Build 19045.4046, RAM 16GB.
  10. This morning when I opened APub and then the document, I tried to export the palette and it worked. For some reason yesterday, when I was still in the session where I had imported the palette, it would not export. Seems that now that APub has been closed and re-opened, it works. I thought maybe it didn't work yesterday because I had altered the imported palette. Thanks for answering so swiftly.
  11. Decided to try APub to design my new project, small wedding planning pkgs. I use AP and AD daily and want to use APub more.

I tried to format my first Amazon book in APub but it didn't work. I didn't want to take time to learn then so I went with Word. I published one book using it but was not impressed.

Now, I'm publishing books through the Kindle Create app. I would like to learn to integrate APub into my KDP publishing so that I can have more control over my book designs. If I can get it to work efficiently I believe I'll love using it for KDP.

  12. Imported to APub a document palette created in AD. Deleted some fills and rearranged the rest. Export link grayed out. How can I export this palette? Thanks.
  13. What is the equivalent in APub to the Word feature for mirror margin settings? Is the gutter setting in Word the same as the bleed setting in APub? I had wanted to use APub to design my books, especially the heavily-illustrated children's books, for KDP but it seems too complicated. KDP has instructions for Word, so it looks like I'll have to return to using Word. That's where I created the manuscript, exported as PDF then uploaded to APub to add my extensive digital collage illustrations. I reset the layout the best that I could using KDP's Word instructions. Of course, there were problems when I uploaded to Amazon. The problems increased as I tried to correct them. Best course, I think, is to start over with Word only. I can use APub for other things, like my own PDF projects to list at my online shop.
  14. This seems like a quick way to do it. Then, I'd just have to deal with the tedious fonts install onto the laptop and the setting of my fav fonts in each app.
  15. I have the Affinity Suite, which includes Publisher. About the fonts, I was referring to setting my favorites fonts within each app. I have quite a few of them and would have to do that in all 3 apps. Not horrendous but just more time and effort. Would have to try to remember and pick out all of my favs from the gazillion Microsoft fonts on my system. When I added fonts I immediately set them as favs in the apps. I have the Suite, all 3 Affinity apps and Win10.
  16. The Serif Affinity Suite is the best thing that ever happened for anyone not needing PS.

  17. I will be having to use my laptop for an indefinite length of time instead of my beloved desktop. When I think about all of the brushes, fonts and assets that I've added to my desktop Affinity suite, I feel sick thinking about having to duplicate all of this work on my laptop. Is there a way that I can bulk copy over these downloaded brushes, fonts and assets to my laptop Affinity apps? If not, any tips to make it easier and faster? Thanks so much!

  19. Thank you for sharing. I'm so glad that they gave you a clear answer. It's good to know the truth, however it may effect us.
  20. Yes, it seems that the problem with handling/packing is Amazon's fault, unless the damage occurs through Serif's packing to ship to Amazon warehouse for storage. I'm not sure how it works but I know that vendors who sell through Amazon's warehouse fulfillment program have to ship their products to Amazon's warehouse for inventory storage. Amazon is then responsible for the shipment to the customer.
  21. I saw that complaint several times at Amazon feedback. Some said they had ordered from Serif and got the books swiftly through Amazon. I wonder if Serif sometimes does Amazon fulfillment because they stock their books there?
  22. Hoping the books add much value to your creative life. They look great standing there. Too bad about that 2nd page. Maybe a kind member will scan theirs and send to you.
  23. I've found that to be true in other apps help pages as well, but it'll be enough for me and better than searching in the book. I don't have professional or freelance needs. Thanks for your insight.
  24. Yes, and Designer in-app Help pages do this faster and more in depth. They will give me exactly what I want. I can go straight to the answers.
