  1. I'm sorry but I have to say it.... I just can't belive what I read here.... You can't be serious, this got to be a joke.... Just click the top right corner "X" and start Photoshop.
  2. I don't know how the German keyboard layout, but mine is configured to "French Canadian" layout. The keys on my keyboard are labeled for English and French. So I can see the [ and ] keys but this is not what they "output". I just went over the shortcuts in AD and AP and reassign the same keys to change brush size. It just shows another character, wich are ^^ and ¨¨ but it works perfectly. I imagine you could probably do the same.
  3. Nobody is forcing you to buy it. Mine arrived in a standard "Amazon box" without any padding. It was in perfect condition, no damage at all. Very nice book, well done and useful.
  4. It probably depends on the font you use, I just tried and ALT-0169 produces the © symbol. Try it with normal fonts like Arial.
  5. MrFlexo, on 27 Dec 2016 - 5:46 PM, said: What other people on this forum probably think but don't want to say MrFlexo is ... Why don't you stay with Ai and Ps and please, stop whining and get out of here.
  6. Crashed on startup too. First error code: 0x80004003, clicked OK and then a second error message code: 0xC0000005.
  7. I just made a quick test with exiftool, in consumer beta .47 Here is the time it took (approx.) to open a RAW CR2 file (28 Mb) Included version 10.1.6.0 : 19 seconds New version 10.3.7.0 : 19 seconds Exiftool disabled: 11 seconds I don't have the speediest computer but AP runs very well on it, and I think that 8 seconds just to read the metadata from the RAW file is not normal. So this is a big part of the time it takes to open a RAW file in AP. This operation can probably be optimized and speed up AP.
  8. AP Beta .47, I get exactly the same result, first right click on layer icon in the right panel, and the new context menu pops up in the top left of the application. The second click makes the menu appear correctly.
  9. As reported under Beta .46, the problem is still there in .47. Open a jpg file Use a Level Filter Unsharp Mask filter And then a Denoise Filter. When using this filter the "Level Filter" layer was selected by mistake, so I couldn't make the Denoise filter work and I played a little with the slider and then noticed the selected layer. As soon as I click on the "Background" layer to select it, while the Denoise filter box is still open, AP crash with the error shown below.
  10. Loading a RAW file still takes too much time, but JPG and afphoto files load much faster now.
  11. It just flashes quickly, I just see a white window about a quarter of the screen size that pops up in the upper left corner and it's gone right away. But AP does not crash. I think (it goes away so fast) that the title bar of the disappearing window says "C:\Windows\system32\Help.exe"
  12. You guys never stop working... Well I just found a bug, now F1, or clicking Help does not work at all. Just a grlimpse of the help windows appears briefly and disapear right away.
  13. I appreciate very much your good work. The performance improvment in this new beta is noticable, the app starts faster and files load a little faster. I don't know if you worked on the tablet support bur my Wacom pen has never worked so well. But I found a bug, here are the steps to reproduce it (at least on my system): Open a jpg file Use a Level Filter Unsharp Mask filter And then a Denoise Filter.
  14. I found what the problem is. The default mode of the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" was set to "Substract", right after the installation of beta .44. I played with the differrent selection tools and it seems that it went back to "Substract" by itself a few times. But I can't reproduce it with specific steps. And AP now loads my JPG files at least twice as fast as the previons version!
  15. Thanks for this update... but I can't get the Rectangular Marquee Tool to work anymore.
  16. I don't see why convert a file to 16 bits when it's already down to 8 bits, not much of a gain. Once you have make all the ajustments from the RAW file there shouln't be much work to do in JGP. None of my clients ever asked me if I worked with 16 or 8 bits files anyway.
  17. My post was to explain that I have the same problem when I start with a RAW file, "develop it" and save it as a "afphoto" file. It gets abnormally huge, but I don't have this problem when I edit a JPG file and save it as a "afphoto" file.
  18. RAW files gives you more "room" for post processing, but today's JPG from cameras are quite good, so RAW is really not a must for most people. But I still have to shoot in RAW 95% of the time and AP is not a workhorse for RAW files, if you have just a few images... ok but when you come back from a photo shoot with 250 RAW files... AP is not the best tool. I use another well known (and not expensive) software for my RAWs that save the modification in a sidecar file, exactly like Lightroom does, and export it to JPG files. Then I use Affinity Photo for the rest of the job. I save a version in .afphoto, the filesize is very very good. I would say that I now get the best of both worlds. After using LR and PS for years, I cancelled my Adobe CC account. I can get the same results in a much cheaper way. And Affinity Photo is getting better and better...
  19. Yes sir! My Wacom tablet is back to work.... the pressure sensitivity is back. Thanks.
  20. Good news Mark.... it works perfectly ! I looked at the "Log.txt" file you mentionned and saw a line "WinTab: No tablets found"... I use my tablet in wireless mode so I turn it off when I don't use it. It has to be on before I start AP and then it works like a charm. Thanks.
  21. Nice update (and quick) but no luck with my Wacom Bamboo... still no pressure.
