Thanks Chris B! I really appreciate it. I don't know much about the game other than it is a top-down JRPG with a pixel art style. My concepts are given to a pixel artist. I am excited too! I can't wait to see what the pixel artists do with my concepts. -

I haven't made a tutorial yet :). My workflow and processes in Affinity Photo have been evolving. For these concepts my process is beginning to come together. Maybe soon I'll try and share some of that ;).- 6 replies

Thanks Peter! I also decided to show my method for creating the crystals which I have updated since I posted them here. You can view it on YouTube. It is my first time creating a process video. Let me know what you think of it and if I need to change anything when making them in the future. Thanks! https://youtu.be/fSFe2M_107I -
Thanks Paolo! This improved performance significantly. See video here. I still have some lag but enough improvement to make the brushes useable. Thanks again!

Hi Paolo! Thanks so much for responding and wanting to help me. I really love the Affinity products. They make illustrating fun and less technical. So, here is a video of me using the DAUB Watercolours Pro LE brush set. I am still having issues. I think it must be my videocard since it is somewhat old. Although in Photoshop I still have better performance. I don't think it is an issue with the brushes, but maybe a combination of my older machine and the way Affinity Photo uses my computer's hardware. But if I am wrong I would love to solve this. Thanks again for your help!

It is not just the DAUB brushes. Some brushes are fine. It depends on the brush settings. The more complex brushes and the brushes with lower percentage settings for steps start to lag significantly. In Photoshop I don't have much of a problem with this. My guess is the way the software uses the video card etc. You can see my computer specs above. Thanks for any suggestions you may have or maybe my computer just can't handle the current version of how Affinity Photo uses my computer resources.

I am using the DAUB Watercolours paint brushes in Affinity Photo on a 36inx24in at 300dpi document and the brushes lag bad. I did reset all settings in Affinity Photo back to default. Same results. See my computer specs below. Any help on this issue would be great. I am trying to make the switch to the Affinity applications for all my work. I also attached the kind of work I am trying to do in Affinity Photo. My Computer Specs: Mac Pro (Early 2009) 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 16 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC RAM ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 MB
