  1. Hi,

I've just started to try out the "stacks" feature.

It seemes that, once the stack has been formed on the screen, further manipulation is limited, f.i. :

opacity adjustment of the individual photos is not possible, nor is "Bring to front etc." ?

Any explanation would be very much appreciated, thanks.

    Apart from that :

Adding the files to a stack is rather cumbersome : the Finder-window opens up in front of the Stack-window and conssequently hides it.

Moving either window is not possible.

That means that for each file to add, you have to go to Add>Finder>pick the file wanted>click open>and start the entire process anew.

Surely, drag & drop would be easier ?

Should I post this question below to the "feature requests" part of the forum ?

    Thanks in advance,

    C.L.

  2. I have followed the "Displace Filter" Vimeo instruction video faithfully, but I made 1 mistake :

I chose the "Screen" blend mode from within the Live Filter in order to make the black text turn white.

That didn't work, the text stayed black.

Took me awhile to figure out what I was doing wrong, in the end it turned out that I must choose the

Screen Blend mode from the Layers panel. Only then does the black text turn white.

    My bad, of course.

My question, though is : what is the difference between the Screen blend mode within the Live Displace Filer

and the Screen Blend mode in the Layers panel. For there is clearly a difference.

And is this the case with the other filters, also ?

Thanks in advance for you clarification !

    Best regards,

    C.L.

  3. I created an Export Preset for EPS with specific settings.

One of those is the Area Setting, which I set to "Selection without background" & saved the Preset as Fonts2.

When I wanted to use this preset, the Area Setting had reverted back to its default "Whole document" (Preset1.tiff)

None of the other settings reverted back to default.

I cound not append my Preset, nor could I create new one without first deleting the original "Fonts2" (Preset2.tiff)

So now I have 3 questions:

    1. Is the reverting back to default "Whole document" normal behaviour ?

    2. Can the user only create 1 Preset at a time ?

    3. Am I doing something wrong here ?

    Thank you,

    C.L.

  4. I, too have experienced this phenomenon.

But I did not bother to send it in.

    Why not ?

Well, after having sent in numerous obervations/questions/feature requests regarding the rulers/guids,

I've come to the conclusion that these matters do not have priority with the developers.

And that's just an observation, I really DO appreciate the tremendous efforts of the developers and

the prompt & friendly way the questions etc. are answered in this forum.

Having said that, I DO WISH though, that all out-standing matters regarding the rulers & guids would be solved in one full sweep.

    Thank you....

  5. It would be extremely useful to have a printable Vector Grid creation feature.

By that, I mean : the ability to create a printable vector grid ( so, not by means of the grid & axis manager !)

of which the measurements, weight and number of stroke lines ( surrounding rectangle, vertical & horizontal lines ) can be entered through a dropdown input box.

I hope you will consider developing such a feature.

    Thank you

    C.L.

  6. I don't want to butt in, but here's my bit :

The attached psd's opened straightaway in Pixelmator when downloading, without having to choose "Open With" first.

Open in AFP 1.4 also, without any trouble, have to choose "Open with", or startup AFP first, though.

    iMac 27", El Cap 10.11.2

      Display Type: Retina LCD

      Resolution: 5120 x 2880 Retina

      Retina: Yes

  7. I realise I'm doing something wrong here, but I just can't get the Panorama tool to work.

    >File >New Panorama

    >Selected pictures (2)

    >Press Add

    >Stitch panorama

There's a little thingy that momentarily appears in between the two little windows, but that's it.

Nothing else happens, no panorama appears, no new persona opens up....

I've looked at the help file, but that simply tells me to add pictures, which I did.

I've searched the forum, read the various posts.

Amongst which, there is one that mentions using pictures of un-equal measurements.

So, I tried with pictures of varying measurements : still no go.

How do I use the panorama tool ? Please take me thourgh the steps

    Thanks,

    C.L.

  8. Over the past periods, various users (including myself) have put in questions, feature requests and what not a number of times in the forums pertaining to the Ruler & Guides.

Particularly the moveable zero point of the rulers, and the color of the guides has been an issue from the first version of Affinity Designer & Photo.

Unfortunately until now, apparently with the release of a new MAS version imminent, it appears these issues have not been solved yet.

I realise that it will take a lot of developer's work, but it is truly a serious drawback in using the programs.

Nevertheless, I respectfully re-submit my -and others' - remarks about the Drawing Aids, in the hope that they will be updated ASAP.

    Here they are :

    RULERS :

Moveable zero point. This would also go a ways to answering the feature request for a measuring tool.

    GUIDES :

Choice of color, so as to be able to set a contrasting color to one's work.

Lock / Unlock guides with the move tool,  irrespective of tool being used

Adjust guides already set with the move tool, irrespective of tool being used.

    GRID :

Choice of color ( for the same reason as the guides)

Perspective grid : drag points (Horizontal  or Vertical simultaneously.

    Thank you.

    C.L.

  9. Please have a look at the example.

    There are 2 layers.

The clear (un-blurred) leaf is on top, the blurred leaf is below that, at the bottom.

When I merge them, selecting both layers, with Layers > Merge Selected, the bottom one (the blurred)

ends up at the top, making the "clear" object the bottom one. In other words, it switches the layer order.

When doing the same, using >Layers > Merge visible, this does not happen.

Is this by design and if so, what's the difference between the Merging Methods ?

Thanks for your answer, as always,

    C.L.

  10. 1. I drew a letter A.

    2. Next I drew a rectangle around it. This serves as the default measurement for all other letters.

    3. Next, I copied the rectangle and pasted it into another letter.

    4. Now I want to place snapped-to guides to the pasted rectangle so that I can delete the rectangle.

Snap is on (see settings) , but doesn't seem to work when dragging the guides to the rectangle straight after pasting it.

It DOES seem to work if first altering the rectangle. (moving, changing color, doesn't matter what )

Please have a look at the files to see what could be going wrong here.

    Thanks,

    C.L.

  11. Hi, MEB.

Thank you very much : that worked.

For your information  (perhaps helpful in finding what could be wrong :

I have noticed 3 different file sizes :

    > The file that is downloaded from the link = 263,6 Mb

    > The "mounted" dmg file on my desktop = 876,8 Mb

    > The actual program file once unpacked in the finder = 772,8 Mb

The times when I  got the "File is damaged" message, I dragged the dmg file icon from the LH side of the dialog box over to the "Applications" folder-icon on the RH side.

I then tried to open the application through the icon on the dock.

None of these time the resultant application opened. Upon checking,  it hadn't even "reached" the Applications folder.

After I downloaded from your link,  I just dragged the dmg file icon from the LH side of the dialog box straight into the Application folder in Finder, without using the "Application Folder Icon" in the dialog box.

Now it WAS visible and the program worked, both by double clicking in the Finder, as well as through the icon on the dock.

    Bye & thanks,

    C.L.

  12. Hello,

I've just downloaded the latest Photo Beta 1.3.5.8.

The file size once downloaded is 876,8 Mb.

When trying to open the downloaded file after installation, I get a message :

"Aff.Photo Beta.app is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to trash. "

I repeated the process twice now including the actual downloading, but each time I get the same result.

The unpacked file is not visible in the Applications folder with Finder.

    Bye,

    C.L.
