  1. I am just asking myself if it could be useful a variable to be an image? Not having a use case for this, but this could be a nice addition.
  2. Just wondering. Is there any benefit in converting a line into a picture or text frame? IMO these options should be greyed out when a line is selected.
  3. I get a different result, when I expand the stroke and a different different one after rotating the element and then expanding.
  4. Whatever I do, after typing in a value and hitting Enter gives the incorrect scaling. @R C-R All Windows apps behave in the same wrong way.
  5. Exactly what I am seeing. To make it more interesting: Type in 50% into the first field and hit the Tab key and not the Enter key. Using the Tab key you get the wanted scaling. Irritating.
  6. The first dot of my 60 pt stroke is malformed while printing on a HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M751. See attached image. To my knowledge there is nothing wrong in my setup. dotted-line.afpub
  7. Yep, here. Starting with Freehand 3.1. Serif is not yet on the finish line. Still basics are underdeveloped and still not developed, like colour handling (colour replacement, to-and-from-spot), tables are basic and form creation is still not available. BUT ... ... Serif is developing at a good pace for a v2 version. I remember Indesign in its first iterations, which were a ... 🤦‍♂️
  8. I totally understand everyone's frustration with tables. At my work I need tables on a regular basis and they are a pita. Dear Serif, rethink your priorities on what basics are to a layout application, don't waste your time on fancy features anymore you drop after a while. I even made my peace with the clumsy colour organisation, but TABLES? Tables are basic. Please.
  9. The video and file might help. rotatedtext.mp4 rotatedtext.afpub
  10. Strange. My final idea: Export as PDF and print from your PDF reader. Or finalfinal idea: Print with a 104% scaling.
  11. At first glance, nothing. Prints fine on a Color Laserjet. First: Change Paper Size to A4. I dislike "Defined by Driver". Second: Open Properties of the printer if there is a scaling not being 100 %.
  12. This took me a while to figure it out. The Layer Desgin seems to be the cause of your problem. After rasterising this Layer I was able to export as PSD. HTH
  13. Maybe this was reported before? Stumbled upon this recently, not a bug, but funny. Arrowheads behave funny, when the line has a small length. They just "walk" out of position. A creative way to do "other" arrowheads.
  14. ... coming to my limits writing a appropriate title in a foreign language. 🤦‍♂️ So I try to describe it as simple as possible. (Horizontal) text in a table cell is sort of dynamic on how space in a cell is occupied. If you decrease the height of a cell it stops at the last line of text and the cell height cannot be decreased any further. If you change the width of the cell, the height of the cell is automatically adjusted. With rotated text it works different. Write a single word (or more) and decrease the width of the cell. At some point the border of the cell can be moved over the rotated text. Yes, very cryptic.
  15. Turn off Hardware Acceleration in Edit > Settings > Performance. Restart and try again.
  16. I'll make a video and give you the timecode, where I hit the Enter key. Approx. at second 19. cellcolour.mp4
  17. 1. Create a table. 2. Select some cells and give them a fill through the context toolbar from Swatches. Result: Fine 3. Select some cells and give them a fill through the context toolbar from Swatches. 4. Switch to the Colour tab, pick Tint, enter a value or move the slider, hit Return / Enter. Result: No colour change.
  18. I could be wrong, but to my observation you have to hit the Enter key after changing your text in the fields. Only changing to another field without hitting Enter gives no enty in the history.
  19. Not as convenient as in PS (the Affinities preserve the vector data), but you can do it. PLACE the PDF (Passthrough) in AP and rasterise them afterwards if needed.
  20. As being not a native speaker I am unsure if Jeff wanted to start a cumpain for a clean language or just thought it to be funny. A lot of fun would vanish from my life without a "good" pun, so I hope ANY language will not be tidied to nonsense by moral guardians.
  21. My observation: Change the document dpi from 0!!!! to e.g. 300 and use the "Revert defaults" button on the textframe.
