Todd S. got a reaction from bures in Pin floating panels always on top
It would be nice to be able to pin floating panels to always on top. That way when I move a floating panel to another monitor and click on something else on that monitor the panel won't disappear on me.

Thank you. I finally figured it out. I had to use a shape over the top of the photo then apply the gradient to the area on the shape I want to fade on the photo. Then go to zero opacity on the side I want the fade. Then drag the box into the photo layer. Presto, faded edge. attached Has to do with Myanmar

Todd S. got a reaction from Alfred in Is there a way to crop the transparent background in affinity designer?
Thanks. I gather that the vector crop tool isn't for cropping out the background to resize the newly create document, but rather cropping objects created or placed on the document. After fooling around with it, I determined that I need to create my drawings on artboards rather than just the document then I can resize the artboard using the artboard tool. It is a shame the crop tools do not work the same as in photo. It has been many moons since I have worked in adobe illustrator so I have forgotten just about everything, but if I recall, that is how you crop in that application too.

I did switch to edge and was able to complete the purchase. $25 for Designer is incredible. I didn't know it was on sale, but came to buy it today because of a project I am involved in requires it, and I lucked out:)

Todd S. got a reaction from firstdefence in How to select a background color on photo and delete
Thank you. The selection brush worked just like the wand in ps. I saw a video on the brush and the person was using it more in a way to paint away the background and didn't even alluded to the fact you can click on the background and select it all at once.
