  1. Agree. We need true vector brushes (not bitmaps on paths).
  2. Canva: You bought out Serif so maybe now is the time to buy out a good 'image trace' program that converts raster to vector. This might even speed up development for true vector brushes in Affinity Designer (not bitmaps sitting on paths). The new software you buy out can be added to Serif apps.
  3. We definitely need real vector brushes not bitmaps that sit on paths.
  4. Totally agree that we need a true vector brush (not a raster brush that sits on top of a vector path). I tried to make calligraphy brushes already and found out that it can only be done in raster; not what I need. Somehow I think if the 'image trace' feature is implemented, this might follow very quickly thereafter. Now that Serif has been bought out by Canva, the budget should be larger. Why not just buy out good image trace software and add it to the serif apps?
  5. Please add REAL vector brushes to Affinity Designer including the option Adobe has to create calligraphy brushes eliminating the need to have to use the width tool and a load of other work arounds to create decent lettering. Currently there is no true 'vector brush' despite its name. It's really raster brush (bitmap) produced on a path. That is image that repeat or are stretched on a path and the path's direction is the only thing that can be manipulated.
  6. Once again I'd like to chime in with a request for an Affinity version of After Effects. Canva has a "subscription version" of making video on their site that is nowhere near 'After Effects' software. Obviously people still pay for it so there would be a market if quality video/animation software was developed by Serif or existing software purchased and refined. I currently own V2 of all apps and would purchase this as well.
  7. Here's an idea for Canva since they bought out Serif. Why not buy out existing software that does image trace only? Then they can add it to the Affinity apps.
  8. Now that there is a larger budget with Canva owning Serif, I really hope that video editing/creation software like "Adobe After Effects" is on the table. It's impossible to let go of Adobe completely with that missing.
  9. I have no problem with Serif doing the job properly. My concern is that they have forgotten about 'image trace' altogether.
  10. I agree. I would love to see 'image trace' in Affinity Photo.
  11. Why are brush types so limited in the vector brush setting? It would be nice to have the oval brush and calligraphy there too along with a calligraphy category.
