Just in curiosity I run UTM virtual OS app on my Macbook Pro 16” Apple Silicon - there I have an full installation of Windows 11 Home, and, have installed the Windows version of Affinity Suite. It works brilliant and very stable - maybe the speed is around 50-60% of running the Affinity Suite in real mode (Mac versions). UTM is free and I paid 15 bucks for an license to Win11 Home. Are there maybe an version of UTM for Linux?

Yeah, probably... In the same time - big software companies may be enough satisfied with tampering with two big commercial platforms in the Mac/Win community... Linus isn’t a system for end users or small private groups - it’s for corporations... But, perhaps you and the rest of the guys wishing for more advanced software on Linux can struggle and fight many years more.

Still can’t understand this talk that Linux users NEEDS Affinity Suite? Serif Labs will ever never add a fourth platform to their apps - it’s more than enough to support Mac & Win and also the iPad platform… Why using Linux in an private environment if it ain’t can feed your needs? Linux has been around since the 1990’s and, if the software companies still not support this platform it must have a clear reason!

Partly right - what I meant with ”no consumer money” is, consumer = private persons, hobby software etc etc… I don’t mean that not corporations and companies using Linux, they certainly do! If you looking into DaVinci Resolve for Linux, probably the majority is using the free version, not upgraded to Studio versions. DR Studio is $300 just now ($100 on iPad) - I’ve using Davinci a lot on my Mac and iPad Pro - the free version is very powerful and enough for me to edit some Drone movies I’ve taken with my Dji Mini 4 Pro… So, to summarize my opinion on Linux is, very few is willing to pay for software, and if they do it must be reasonable prices…

Why should Serif Labs take effort to develop Affinity Suite? There’s no consumer money to earn on Linux (and also on Android), that’s why they refuse to do that job… So, every Linux user here, give up your wishes for Affinity Suite.

Suite Affinity 3
AffinityMakesMeWonder replied to hang5.0's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
Now I have to make you disappointed - Serif Labs have a peculiar way to implement new features into Affinity Suite. As an example, features that should have been implemented years ago, even five to ten years ago, is still lacking - Serif Labs have introduced other features instead… So, we have what we have, and can’t count on features you request earlier than three to four years ahead… Hold also in mind that Serif Labs have been sold to Canva Inc. so Serif Labs can’t decide the roadmap forward - Canva rules… -

Personally I’m disappointed that Serif have almost abandon the iPad platform development - many new features for desktop Affinity Suite seems to not be implemented on the iPad.

Canva Create 2025
AffinityMakesMeWonder replied to Bryan Rieger's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
I’ve heard some rumour that Canva regret their affairs buying Serif Labs. Yeah, they seems to be disappointed. don’t be too surprised if Serif Labs will soon have a new owner, perhaps a better company in the back than Canva. -
Affinity V3?
AffinityMakesMeWonder replied to TimDC's topic in Customer Service, Accounts and Purchasing
My gut feeling around V3 for Affinity Suite say that it will NOT be any V3 before 2027… In the same time, if you need an substitute for Adobe CS, go get Affinity Suite now! Go for universal license, pretty nice to have the option to run this suite on both Mac & Windows, and also on iPad… V3 may also be Subscription, even though Serif/Canva say no to this just now. -
Android just like Linux isn’t a bad platform, but, for commercial companies it ain’t the best platforms to be on if your products aiming amateurs and semi-pro’s… Just look the difference between iPad and Android tablets concerning music making apps, and, the technology around this with support for plugins, zero latency and opportunities to have an customerbase that put 100 or 1000’s of bucks on music software for their iPads… Affinity Suite on Android will never ever happends, at least not before 2030. Also, the Apple walled garden, their sandboxing compare to Android is almost 100% secure, meanwhile Android is full of phising, spyware and tens of open backdoors…

Hold in mind that Affinity crew already have more than enough with chasing bugs on three different platforms… I they should add Android as an fourth platform we probably ever never will receive an version 3 in the future. Android platform is too segmented, that’s fact, that’s a big problem, and, Google will not ever brings together this platform. Also, the Android community has an old culture that says that everything must be for free or at least a tiny amount of money.

Forget Affinity Suite on Android - why? Three disadvantages on Android, Piracy piracy piracy… If diehard Android users really look closer on the iPad platform they will pretty soon see that iPad software is miles ahead against Android. iPad is a more mature and better overall device then all Android tablets out there, and, I don’t mean screen quality, OS performance or OS security, I really mean that iPad is superior, in every way. Talking about Adobe Photoshop, it’s sucks on iPad! Adobe is a shitty company that should be banned by the users worldwide.

iPad Stage Manager support
AffinityMakesMeWonder replied to JakubCZ's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
You can only install vendor-approved apps from the app store (here in Europe it’s OK to use alternative Appstores… No alternative operating systems available (why would we need other than MacOS or iPadOS?) No virtual machine hosting (wrong, at least here in Europe - no problem run Windows 10 on my iPad Pro with UTM)… Limited options in terms of arranging multiple apps for simultaneous usage Limited options for on-device software development and automation (almost everyone I know that has an powerful iPad also have an Mac/Macbook Pro - why run Xcode on iPad?) Mostly locked-down filesystem complicates sharing of data between apps (I can’t see any problem whatsoever to manage my files, both locally or my network drives or cloudfiles - now we talking just running Affinity Suite, not any advanced software) -

But, the iPad versions in Affinity Suite is crippled in many ways compared with the desktop versions. It seems that Serif Labs have lost a little interesting in the iPad platform (my personal feeling/view) - I may have wrong in some way… -

James Ritson save AFFINITY
AffinityMakesMeWonder replied to GRAFKOM's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
For me the disappointment with Affinity Suite lays in the iPad versions - so many features presented to the desktop versions the last couple of years THAT’S NOT implemented to the iPad - really sad… Nowadays many iPad users have pretty beafy iPads with Apple Silikon inside, but, without this features… I have lost hopes on the iPad platform for Affinity Suite… -

Hmmm - this is also something I have been looking for! But, what’s the difference with or without CMD key pressed? Also, on the iPad version, without a keyboard, what’s the solution there? Thanks in advance!
