  1. That’s what is so frustrating. If only they were to focus some energy on those essentials, they potentially could be a legitimate competitor, not perhaps universally, but at least to a wider segment of professionals.
  2. Received loud and clear, apologies. Your statement is honestly debatable though. The guy above and admittedly myself were acting like kids.... however, when there are regular questionable management decisions and a reluctance to respond to repeated requests and comments about your (generally but not universally) awesome products, “feedback” like this is inevitable. Why don’t you attempt to defend yourself a little more and at least mitigate some frustrations aired by customers. My own personal grievances include: No rulers in Designer ipad, no free transform or warp in ipad. I’m not alone. If you can’t provide the basics then you’re not charging enough for your products, simple as that. I’d pay more.
  3. These two points, coupled with Affinity’s deafening silence, only adds to my disappointment with some aspects of Affinity management. Even an acknowledgment that there are hurdles to getting the tools to customers... whether they be financial or straight up willingness would at least let us know where we stand. I have mentioned before that I would be willing to pay for specific features and it is increasingly clear I am not alone. Affinity, your products are too cheep if you can’t compete (on a basic level in terms of free transform) with CC! I F**king hate Adobe’s business strategy as much as the next guy, but Affinity keeping mum about development, especially in areas frequently requested doesn’t exactly make you the protagonist in the situation. I Love you guys, love your products, but please, disclose your intentions on how you plan to move forward in terms of competing with the behemoth. We are here, we want to support you, but personally I feel less inclined to when my, and others desires and concerns are treated like they don’t exist. I feel like I need to go see a marriage counselor 😂
  4. Hey. So on a file with a ton of layers but relatively small canvas, I experienced repeated crashes. I removed unnecessary groups of layers onto a separate file but things got increasingly worse regardless, even after reducing the canvas size further. This however is not a common issue, so I don’t know what’s up. It even crashed when I received a mail notification (although admittedly that could be coincidence). I updated the iOS which I had neglected to do and it made no difference. I have been having issues with backing up my iPad to the cloud (a clusterf*** of epic proportions with Apple claiming I need 100gb to backup a 16gb iPad with 5gb of cloud storage used 🤪), can’t imagine this is contributing, but thought I’d mention it just in case. I would normally persevere a little more before coming to you guys, but I have a backlog of work and files to send. Also, a separate subject. I love your apps but their price is too low. This isn’t a complement at all, it is a pragmatic request that you find a method of enabling your developers to keep up with the competition and allow for updates and features regularly requested on this forum and more. Yes, one of the reasons why I love your programs is that the bang for the buck is incredible and a stark contrast to Adobe’s bs business strategy.... but, you need to develop an understanding of your worth! Creatives generally struggle with this, myself included. I would happily pay more for your time, and I KNOW I’m not alone. thanks Mark
  5. Well said 👏🏻. I have stated before that I think affinity is astonishingly good value, and would be happy to pay for “premium” updates. Maybe not all users would have a need for some of the features mentioned, nor others that affinity had in mind for the future. But having options to purchase individual “plugins” may be a way that the developers could justify the apparently unjustifiable additions to the program you mentioned. In the long run, it is only going to get harder for Serif with their business model. I am definitely not saying they should go down the creative cloud route (cus f*** Adobe that’s why) but again, I value designer and photo enough, that I would happily support the company further than the initial payment while also ensuring that Serif has the liquidity to remain current in the face of Adobe’s rather lucrative business model.
  6. Actually, I agree. I would happily pay. I love designer, I can’t abide photoshop’s creative cloud subscription policy and compared to that “service” affinity is a steal... would not see a reasonable payment for updates as exploitative at all..... especially if you could pick and choose... Essentially like plugins.
  7. Sadly, as mentioned in the title of this thread....... perspective and warp tools..... are lacking
  8. Noted, but If a young person can make sense of what I said, I think their parents are more to blame than I am frankly.
  9. We pay Serif money in exchange for a product.... your metaphor is most relevant to a hooker/john relationship. It is arguable that some would complain about a shoddy **** job, but I’m not sure the developers would be comfortable with the comparison.
  10. Thanks man. I appreciate that. Overall I am fully enamored with designer... and very, very happy, but there are issues, and some options are lacking.. when they do become apparent, I just have to think of what it does for the price, and also because f*** Adobe. Cheers Jowday
