  1. Solution to this problem (for Publisher only) would be IDML export. If there is IDML import, implementation of export should not be so hard, should be? Another solution for that would be PSD or PDF export that will be compatible to exchange data. But PSD break publisher file by pages to many PSD files and text is rasterised even with changed settings. PSD was not really mentioned for this kind of interoperability anyway. So rather not for Publisher. PDF is not perfect too. Mainly because text is weirdly separated all the time i tried it. Even with simple text layouts. Also there is many compatibility issues with other features. Not sure why. Editability should be consistent. So IDML export seems to be the best solution. Any plans for that?
  2. As @ateleman mentioned my case is similar. I have raised a concern some time ago, without any reasonable response. So here we are. I have many v1 files and many computers with v1 installed without possibility upgrade and no interoperability between v1 and v2... This was and still is a main reason why i can not recommend v2 and will not buy a new licenses till this is resolved somehow.
  3. There is a plenty options how to run newer OSX on an older macs. But it is not option for me as for others. Affinity made very unfortunate step with supporting just Catalina+. Of course - understandable. But I will not update to Catalina nor newer OSX because Apple stopped support 32bit apps after Mojave. There is plenty very good apps which will not run in Catalina. Also Catalina has worse performance on my devices. So that's it for me. I will stay with Mojave and High Sierra. I have to Anyway CS6 has almost all functionality as Affinity and it is working for me. So yeah. Why bother for few things that Affinity try mimics. I was patient enough wait for v2 which is not working for me because of stupid short life-span OSX support. So unfortunately I will not upgrade to v2 till they make more professional features as backward compatibility with v1 because i cant use v2 files on my older devices. Also there is plenty missing features that we can find in CS6 which is really old. I am not saying that Affinity is bad. On the contrary. It makes good job for an users with a new devices. But it is not good enough for my workflow. I still have to use the Photoshop in many cases. So why bother with affinity? Not sure? I gave a chance only because i have iPad version. But i have to be honest - ipad version lacks many features from desktop app. Also weird UX decision makes my work less professional and very time consuming. But again, for the users with new metal it makes more sense than CS6 or CC. Also there is none better solution on iPad. It is just pity that v2 is not more compatible.
  4. Just add possibility save to Affinity V1 file with warrning about possible lost some "new" features. This should be not so hard... All pro apps give us this option. Reason: I have older macbook that is not possible install nor run V2 (High Sierra). So i have to use V1. That goes for my another mac with Mojave. And... same goes with my iPad where i have V1 Affinity. I want use Aff v1 as well as v2 with possibility open V2 in V1. I do not mind click some compatibility checkbox as we have in Adobe software. And fix the problem mentioned previously. Automatic backup and saving options cause compatibility problems with V1 files opened in V2. This should be fixed by popup window where we are notified about it and disable this options for the file as we lost possibility open some files in V1. Thanks in advance
  5. Hardware acceleration is very slow. I have GTX 1070 8GB RAM. Even with snapping disabled i see that pointer is slow and less responsible. With old version Affinity or Hardware acceleration disabled there is no problem.
  6. I am adding for separated app if there will be any. Or it could be in Photo but not like in Photoshop, but more like Animation/Flash or Adobe After Effect. Why not in Photo? I am afraid of cluttered UI and UX. We do not need another bloatware. I am more to UNIX approach of app architecture. More small apps, that will do what we are expecting. Not messy app, where we cant find solution within few seconds. But i do not care right now. We can use other free tools for animation. But it will be very nice to see some functionality that will help us to bring a life to our creations.
  7. I am trying to use AD as my primary vector editor. But there is so much features still missing from my last check. There are few things, that i missing: Export to DWG/DXF !!! Autotrace of raster image (i really do not need it there are some online solution, but i hear the call of users) Switching nodes between sharp and smooth (Horrible UX, no keyoboard shortcut) No shortcuts for reverse curve! SHORTCUTS! Customise shortcuts! I love it! I need it! It is how we make our work more effective. For example hidding and showing a layer should be switchable with one key instead of two Many functions cant be found so we cant bind them with shortcuts Better selection as i mentioned in past for Publisher Duplication of curves inside curve (for creating holes for example, adding some details) Fix Boolean because we cant break lines easy as we can do in other apps We need better array funcion (parametric copy), magic array is bad UX. Nobody knows withou previous tutorial Add more funcionality to manipulate nodes (mainly inside the cure itself) Joining nodes (not curves it is UX nightmare) Delete segment between nodes Add node in middle on segment between two nodes Symmetric smooth node? Not really necessary but really good - Better cloud solution to share and collaborate (iCloud on iPad is messy - i hate iCloud) Add Google Drive / Mega / Dropbox Add SMB, FTP or any other external storage with revision Just few that i find out after just one hour of using AD on desktop. It is so frustrating make some easy task with AD on desktop. It is understandable for iPad version that many features are hidden or missing but desktop version should be more fluid. I will pationaly wait, but it is 3 years from my last visit and there were no real updates that will make me happy. So who knows.
  8. I bought Affinity Photo and Designer for iPad. I would like to buy desktop version even the bugs persist and features missing. But without Linux support I am not willing pay anything. Reason? Firstly, I do not want to be OS limited. Secondly, I would like to switch to Linux in future. Right now i have old CS6 suite that is still working and has more features than Affinity. Also there is phylosophical point of view about open source, but i am willing pay some tribute for good software. Many people argue that Linux market share is less then 10%. But hey! Ordinary Joe does not need Photo/Vector Editing software, right? Many people use Windows or Mac just for email, document editing, gaming and web browsing. So, these statistics are way out of reality. Anyway, me as many others (advanced users who use computer for living) use WIN, MAC only in work because there is no suitable alternative for some properiety software. We are the market you are looking for. If there will be alterantive for these mandatory cliche software that make us addicted on damn properiet PSD, DWG, DOCX... we will instantly switch to Linux. Do math yourself. I know. It is risk. But believe me, many "Linux" users are willing pay more for PRO software. They use their computer for job. If software makes their life and work easier, they will pay for it!
  9. Thank you for fast response. I have just one feature idea for future releases. As you can see, in this PDF document there is lot of layers due uneffective exporting tool. This is very normal behaviour for many softwares. So, how we can effectively clean up/purge such document? Unfortunetly in Designer nor Publisher there is not any smart way. Only manual chosing layer or "objects". In many other applications such Illustrator or even Open Source Inkscape you can chose "all objects" with same parameter as color, stroke style, etc. Select by same parameter should not be very hard to implement, should be? It would be nice have this in Affinity workspace (Designer and Publisher). On more advanced documents we need smart tools like this. Even decades old softwares had those functions. Do not take me wrong, but for example also in Designer there is no any way how to vectorize a raster image. We need use external applications. That leads customers consider the idea: Why i would work in designer, if i have to use similiar software that have this and many others functionality? Just my idea. I like Affinity products. Juts trying help find few features that we need in our professional workflow
  10. The Publisher is very slow with PDF document opened. This is related to Designer as well. How can i say it is very slow? Because in Indesign or Illustrator CS6; the document is very responsive. I have this simple LAYOUT document (more attachement). I want to use it in our documentation that will be 10 pages max. The first thing is very hard or none options rotate entire document/page in non portrait. So i change canvas by Spred propertis to non portrait style. After that i need rotate the all layers as one object. And there starts thing go very slow. I can not rotate without really big lags. Not usable. I think my computer is not so slow. It is i7 3770, 16GB RAM, GTX1070... Also, as i said above - with old Adobe CS6 without any lag. There is few workarounds. But i have to be hones. I tried Place PDF document to Publisher, but this is not solution because I need polish and edit PDF document later without opening another software. Only options for Placed PDF document is rasterize Layer. Why? PDF is vector based... Why we lost editability? So, maybe i am doing something wrong, but according to me, there should be investigation on performance or at least usability PDF documents (in Designer aswell) Limpacher_ZAMERANIE_2np.pdf
