  1. I manually cranked up the DPI to get a very high resolution when exported to rastered formats like PNG. Rastering the brush stroke internally at usual DPI values left me with the pixel mess I described above, which is inappropriate, if my customer needs to scale up the image. At this hight resolution my customer hast at least enough details to scale it down. As this brush is not a vector brush, it was the only option in this case I could think of.
  2. There are two places where I can change the brush width, in the brush properties and in the outline properties. Lets say I have 50pt dialed in on the outline width property and 128px on the brush width property. - If I touch the outline width value, the brush width value doesn't change. - If I touch the brush width value, the outline width value somehow 'resets' to 1.9pt and scales between 0 and 15pt. - If I touch ANY value in the brush properties, the outline width value jumps to 1.9pt. - If I scale the path with the 'Scale with object' option active, it messes up the appearance and does something random, but not scaling the values correctly. - A workaround to scale the object would be to convert it either to paths, but this is not working at all, or to raster it, but this leaves me with a big blocky mess of pixels, unusable for scaling (up). Btw, those three dots on the 'Raster...' menu option suggests there would pop up some kind of control window, but it just rasters it with 'some' resolution value. Not intuitive. For now, the whole brush thingy is unusable for me. brush-mess.afdesign
  3. I was also a bit disappointed about no exclusive bonus for existing users, to be honest. But I don't bother about the intro price being the same as for new users, it is still a great deal. But also I cannot quite believe the argument why this was technically impossible to determine who is an existing user, as it was no problem to include a function to import things from the v1 upon installation. That would have the point to trigger some kind of a treat. Just one or two fonts, some extra brushes, an email with a nice "Thank you!"-picture in it... something like that. Just sayin. Would have been nice.
  4. I guess this will be a topic for many Users who are collaborating with other Affinity users still on V1. I have both versions of the Affinity suite, and am a bit hesitant to edit v1-documents because of the incompatibility with v1-apps. Is there any way to somehow "save as" or "export" v2-documents from the v2-app to the v1-document-format, perhaps with a friendly warning that one might lose some new features? Otherwise this would be a weird situation, Designer can open Illustrator files from all versions (which Illustrator cannot do), but cannot export into its very own format of the predecessor... Btw: Copying from V2 and paste it into V1 seems to work, even the controls for a cog shape still works.
  5. So rasterizing the linked jpg did the trick? Should I do that too or should I wait if there will be a fixed update?
  6. Hi Nathan, the amount of data is way too big to upload, so I tried to minimize the resources by further linking big assets into child assets. Now the crash problem disappeared, but another problem popped up: Every time I edit an asset file, the afpub loses the linking and I have to manually relink the asset. Is it bad practice to do cascading linking? In my example the structure is the following: Big Map Image -> Image afdesign file -> Page asset afdesign file -> Main afpub. I uploaded the data to your Dropbox, as well as the last crashdump from the prior crash problem.
  7. I have a document with 13 pages, on each page there is a linked and quite large Designer file (~300mb). Case A: When I doubleclick it to edit it inside Publisher, do my changes and save it, Publisher crashes with no error message. When I open the document again, I see that changed file is saved, not refreshed in the document and I can refresh the file with the resource manager manually. Switching the persona to Designer makes no difference. Case B: When I open the Designer file externally with Designer, do my changes and save it, no crash occurs, Publisher still not alerting about a changed resource, but showing the file as changed in resource manager. So here I also have to refresh it manually. My Environment: Windows 11 Pro 21H2, Publisher 1.10.5.1342, Designer 1.10.5.1342 It would be nice to be able to choose if I want to edit the resource file internally or externally.
  8. Today I was offered the update for all three Affinity desktop apps to version 1.9.2. Would you please be so kind and provide us with the release notes? In the official thread the latest version documented is 1.9.1. Thank you!
  9. I've seen several bug reports targeting all Affinity apps with Wacom tablets and I had got the same experiences with my Intuos 3 (PTZ930) on Windows 10. Problem: - Tool cursors misalignments, for example the selection tool draws the selection frame somewhere on the screen and not where I placed the cursor with the pen or mouse. - No button was clickable - App freeze and crash after a short time Solution: 1. Go to app preferences -> Tools 2. Change Tablet Input Method from "Low precision" or "High precision" to "Windows Ink" 3. Restart the app (obligatory) From now on the tablet works as desired (at least mine)! I hope this helps someone struggling with the same problems.
