Is there a way to merge two Affinity Publisher documents together? Or copy and paste pages between docs?

I have two people working on separate parts of a project and would like to bring them all together at the end. Is this possible? Or will collaboration be a feature implemented soon?

Hi MitchAg,

Welcome to the forums :)

Unfortunately there's no dedicated 'merge' options, however you can certainly copy and paste layers from one document to another without losing formatting etc!

We don't have any plans for this currently, I'd recommend posting this in our Feedback section of the forums for our devs to see and consider :D

I'll try this out and see how I go, it may work for me but I'll definitely post on the feedback section!

But you can link/embed them into one

Thanks for that, can you explain how you do this, please?

Yes, but only 1 page of the linked/embedded document will be visible in the document you place it into. If you need to see several pages, you would need to place it multiple times.

At this point your easiest approach might be to have them work in Word or LibreOffice, and save their work in .docx format.

Then you could import the .docx files into your .afpub document via File > Place. You would have some work to do with the text styles, but depending on exactly what kind of work they're doing it may be easier than trying to merge .afpub files.

No,you can duplicate the page and choose a different page from the external file to show in the duplicated page

Interesting. Thanks, I hadn't thought of that simplification.
