I created a new style for the headings of different pages. The problem is when I do that I no longer get the associated page number to display in a Table of Contents. The numbers displayed when I used the preset Heading 1. I had the new style based on Heading 1 which I knew worked.perfectly. Type is set to paragraph.  What have I missed in creating the new style?

In the Style Name list at the bottom of the TOC studio panel, you have to select which styles you want the TOC to include, and whether you want page numbers for each included style. Perhaps you forgot to tick the page number box there for your new style?

Hi there, I am trying to create a table of contents. I highlight my chapter title and click heading 1. That pulls through in my TOC. But where are my page numbers? I wanted eacj chapter to be numbered. ie. 1. Evie........8 etc. But there is no tick box for 'page numbers'. I've tried adding the headings from my master pages and the pages of my book. But neither work. Please help!

You have to go in the TOC panel and on the right of the style names you choose to include in TOC (e.g. Header 1 or Chapitre), you'll find a three bar button (a.k.a. burger button). There is the option to include page number or not.
