Rick560
Hi I have numerous Canon Cameras, I have used Windows Explorer on Windows 10 to browse images, the built in viewer, then "Select Open With" and used Affinity Photo. I now have a Canon 800d, I can't find a codec for it and have had to resort to using Canon Digital Photo Professional (DPP) (which is rubbish). I can only launch PhotoShop from it. Is there away to force DPP to open Affinity Photo? Currently I am converting them to TIF files, using Windows Explorer to sort and launch Affinity Photo
Staff Lee D Posted August 16, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 16, 2019 Some apps will allow you to setup third party editors, not sure if the Canon software has an option to set this up. If it does, you usually just need to point it to the photo.exe file. You may also want to look into downloading a recent MS RAW Image Extension thats adds more camera support for Windows Explorer. John Rostron
If you set Photo as the default program to open tiff files, then when you save a tiff file from DPP it will automatically open in Photo. AFAIK for DPP it's Batch Process panel allows you to define and point to another app to open images with then. Just give it a try.
