Attempting to access spelling options just gives the spell check dialogue, but options don't appear. I've tried the menu and the key command. What am I missing?

Hi John Nolan,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
With the text frame selected, go to the Character panel (menu View > Studio > Character) and make sure that the Spelling dropdown in set to the language of your document in the Language section almost on the bottom.

Hi John Nolan,
With the text frame selected, set the Spelling dropdown to English in the Language section of the Character panel (sometimes it doesn't stick at first - make sure that when you select the text frame the language displayed there is English (in this case). Then go to Text > Spelling > Spelling Options, it should now offer several choices/options for misspelled words.

I'm still just seeing the blank dialogue like the one in my first post. The only English option I see in the English (Canada) one. I've tried selecting French, Dutch and German for the text, and still don't see any options when I select Spelling Options.

What I'm trying to access are the choices for auto-correct, like smart quotes and the like,

Preferences, Auto-Correct.
