I hope it's on their roadmap asap.

Affinity uses PDFlib and as told before, the company behind this library removed the support for x-1a:2001. I assume Serif is not going to re-write the whole library. If you still have Acrobat Pro, you can do a conversion there. But I still wonder why Serif is using PDFlib 9.1.2 from 02/2018 instead of 9.2.0 from 02/2019. Licence fees? No essential changes between the two versions?

No, Ingram hasn't changed anything and still accept the same file types, none of which is an option in Publisher.  The poster here basically saying pdf/x-1a:2003 will work and Ingram software will not kick it out.  I am trying to confirm whether or not he has actually submitted such a file.

Just to add that a PDF/X-1a:2003 PDF file created with Affinity Photo sails through IngramSpark without a hitch. I've published 2 books so far with covers created with Affinity Photo and they've gone through without any errors. Even the covers I used to create with Photoshop would usually throw up a false error regarding 'embedded ICC colour codes', which I usually ignored. With the Affinity PDF/X-1a:2003 output, it doesn't throw up any error at all. It appears to be a much cleaner PDF, and the files are also smaller in size.

I need to send my document as PDF/X-1a:2001. What is the equivalent in 'Affinity' before I purchase!! Please!!

@GBF15 You can probably get away with PDF/X-1a:2003, as it seems affinity handles the transparency right, worst case you can ask for a refund from affinity or just use the trial version.

The trial version is great, fully featured and you can download it as often as you want (I think, don't quote me on it).

I may end up needing this capability as well. Just got the opportunity to design an ad for local mag and they specifically request PDF X-1A 2001. I have offered to send a test file as X-1A 2003 to see if it will work. Obviously, if they cannot work with it I lose the project.

Actually it appears that pdf/x-1a:2003 works fine for IngramSpark checks!

Thank you. This is exactly the good news I was looking for today.
