Resizing text

I have watched the "How to Resize" video.  When I select my text box, and attempt to resize it by dragging out the corner node, only the box itself enlarges; the text stays the same size.  What am I missing?

You will have to use the “outer” handle to the bottom right of the frame text bounding box. The “inner” handle will just resize the frame.

Thanks.  But I discovered today, that I need to write the text without first creating a text box, in order for the text to enlarge, when selected.

Are you aware that there are two text tools in Affinity apps? One creates Artistic Text; the other Frame Text.

Yes, I am, however I was under the false impression that I had to create the text box before I could add the text.  I didn't know I could add text without the box.  :-)

Well, artistic text is also contained within a frame, witnessed by the fact that you can apply certain text frame styles to such a frame. There is just a different kind of relation between a frame of that kind and its contents, compared to frame text text frames.
