davepmiddleton
Created a document with "lorem ipsum" filler text inside a text frame, two paragraph styles and a drop caps to test run the new app before creating a production version. I loaded a Fell Type font using the FontBase font manager. A crash can be replicated multiple times on my machine: Use the move tool (V) and double click anywhere in the text frame; Use Crtl + A to select all text; Publisher will quit without a warning. Probably an issue with the libStory.dll. Luckily, Publisher saved a version that can be recovered. Crash Report attached. Specs: Publisher version 1.7.1.404 Windows 10 Pro version 1903 Build 18362.175, 64-bit. 9afa939c-57d5-4e6d-abc1-4a11baf9985a.dmp
Staff Jon P Posted June 24, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 24, 2019 Hi @davepmiddleton, We have an issue in very similar to what you describe at the moment, which might be related to a font that was used. Does this crash happen if you use Arial? If not can you possibly attach the font you are using? Thanks Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
davepmiddleton
Thanks @Jon P, I used this font: "IM Fell English" to recreate an old book style. The font can be found here: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/IM+Fell+English Will work with Arial and see if the error will repeat.
NilsFinken
I experience the same, just using Publisher's filler text and Times New Roman. Even double clicking in the text frame produces the crash. On a positive note, it is a benign crash that does not seem to corrupt the file. It may have something to do with linked text frames containing filler text. I can only remove the filler text by unlinking the text frames. That does not produce a crash. Quote Lenovo laptop with Intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, Windows 10 Home. Staff Jon P Posted June 27, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 27, 2019 Can either of you attach a document that crashes when you click inside the text frame? To be sure I've not set up anything wrong. Is it possible also to attach the crash reports that are generated here: %AppData%\Affinity\Publisher\1.0\CrashReports\reports NilsFinken you don't happen to use FontBase font manager too?
