MannaTheBerserk
Hi everybody, Here I am with another noob question. How do I create a marquee selection from the centre, rather than the corner while dragging? I will use Photoshop again as an example: to create the selection from the centre I just hold "ALT" and then drag. If I want it with constrained proportions and create from the centre simultaneously, then I just hold "Shift + ALT" and drag. This is a very important feature. Again, thanks in advance to anyone answering my question!
Staff DWright Posted June 14, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 14, 2019 Unlike the shape tool the marquee selection tool do not have the modifier that allows to create the selection area from a centre point
MannaTheBerserk
Thanks for the answer! That's bad. It leaves everything to eyeballing when it comes to precision, especially the circular marquee.

IOW can we expect it down the road? I brought it up years ago with no definitive answer. Edit: and while I have your eyeballs.... Same question for the absence of an antialias tick box for the Flood Select tool. (In some (certainly not all) circumstances one can go into refine and blur a touch, but that's a whole lot to do instead of one little checkbox) MannaTheBerserk
