  1. Now I am experiencing a different issue, which isn't related to Affinity thankfully (and unfortunately, because I cannot figure out a solution). All of a sudden the shortcut CTRL + ALT + C (which is canvas size in both Photoshop and Affinity Photo) no longer work, like at all. Id doesn't work in Affinity and it doesn't work in Photoshop... ...it must be some other software or driver interfering. Oh well! Go figure! :-\
  2. The lock screen on Windows is triggered by pressing "Windows+L". I doubt that that is the reason why it does not work. Anyway, I changed it to "Shift+Backspace" and it works. So weird.
  3. Hey Chris, The fill with primary colour works now. Though the fill with secondary doesn't, no matter what shortcut I assign it to.
  4. I did. The problem is that no custom shortcut works. I have assigned "CTRL+BACKSPACE" to "Fill with Primary Colour". Nothing, it just doesn't work. It's the exact same behaviour that occurred last year.
  5. I can confirm that the bug is still there, even after all this time. Custom shortcuts on Windows do not work at all. Quite disappointing.
  6. That's not how it should work. Also I am talking about selections no transformations.
  7. Oh, I see! Well, now that I know I will only open one thread next time.
  8. Yes, this was my first post about the issue. Then I realized that it was also in Designer and Publisher.
  9. No need for apologies, these things could happen. Is the fix in the work for Photo and Publisher too, as far as you're aware? Thank you!
  10. It's now a recognized bug for the Serif Affinity suite on Windows. It does not work in any of their windows software.
  11. Same bug as in Photo. It's impossible to assign the shortcut "ALT + BACKSPACE" or "CTRL + BACKSPACE" to anything. The software just refuses to acknowledge the BACKSPACE when you press it on the keyboard. I double checked the Mac Os version, just to be sure, and it works as expected. No problems at all at assigning the shortcut there. Thank you

  13. It's impossible to assign the shortcut "ALT + BACKSPACE" or "CTRL + BACKSPACE" to anything. The software just refuses to acknowledge the BACKSPACE when you press it on the keyboard. I have tried, of course, removing the same shortcut (ALT + BACKSPACE) from the "Inpaint" tool (which is predefined by default), and then assigning to anything else (Fill with foreground colour in my case). Nothing, it just doesn't work. I double checked the Mac Os version, just to be sure, and it works as expected. No problems at all at assigning the shortcut there. Thank you
  14. I have just verified what happens on my wife's iMac. The Mac OS version works as expected. I was able to customize the shortcuts by assigning "ALT + BACKSPACE" to "Fill with foreground" and "CMD + BACKSPACE" to "Fill with background". So it's definitely a bug with the Windows version.
  15. Well, these choices don't make much sense to be honest with you. If I "accidentally" delete something, or make a mistake, I can always go back (Undo) and I am fine. I have been using Photoshop since v2 (no layers back then), quite a long time I would say. The total customization of the shortcut keys should be in Affinity as well. If you are afraid that some beginner will make mistakes, then preventing the use of certain keys in the shortcut is not the right way to help them, nor a valid excuse. If you want to achieve that kind of "design" choice, then just add a "beginner" level and an "advanced/expert" level option to the general preferences.
  16. This is a simple feature that I thought was already in Photo by default. It's very important and it's missing. I would like to be able to drag a marquee selection from the centre (circular, rectangular...), not just the corner. A shortcut would be nice, like in Photoshop (ALT + DRAG, ALT + SHIFT + DRAG for constraining proportions and so forth). While we are here I would also suggest the option for moving the selection temporarily while creating it (again in Photoshop would be by holding the Space Bar, moving the selection and then releasing the spacebar and carry on the selection creation). Thank you!
  17. Thanks for the answer! That's bad. It leaves everything to eyeballing when it comes to precision, especially the circular marquee.
  18. Hi everybody, Here I am with another noob question. How do I create a marquee selection from the centre, rather than the corner while dragging? I will use Photoshop again as an example: to create the selection from the centre I just hold "ALT" and then drag. If I want it with constrained proportions and create from the centre simultaneously, then I just hold "Shift + ALT" and drag. This is a very important feature. Again, thanks in advance to anyone answering my question!
  19. Awesome! The add selection works. Though I think it's counterintuitive and I will change it if possible. Regarding the shortcut yes, it's definitely a bug then, otherwise how would you explain the other shortcuts containing the Backspace (like inpaint)? Thanks a lot!
