dangerweenie Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Hi, I'm using Affinity Designer on iPad Pro - I've watched all the tutorial videos and looked through the help documents, but I can't figure out what the different icons represent in the context toolbar (especially for the first tool, the transform tool). The interactive popup visual reference in help file simply labels it "context toolbar". Enabling popup tips and labels in the app UI does not label these icons. I can't seem to find any info in the videos, either. Am I missing something obvious here? The icons aren't entirely clear for any of the tools. Quote
Butler To Cats Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Go back to the Home/Gallery. Tap the little question mark in the top right area. In the top left search area, type in Move. From the quick results, tap to select Move Tool. Callum and LionelD 2 Quote
LionelD Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Well, that’s very helpful information, thanks a lot! Regards Quote
Butler To Cats Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 @LionelD - hmm, not sure if it's just my copy, but two of the icons seem to be missing from my iPad help file: Show Alignment Handles—when selected, displays alignment handles at the center and edges of the selected object. Hovering over these handles displays a floating guideline across the page. You can drag the handles to position the center or edges of the selected object in line with this guide. (Note: this is documented under the Node tool in my iPad help) Transform Objects Separately—when selected, where multiple objects are selected, they can be be resized, rotated and sheared independently of each other instead of transforming the bounding box. The above information is directly extracted from the online desktop version help at: https://affinity.help/designer/en-US.lproj/index.html?page=pages/Tools/tools_move.html?title=Move Tool Quote
DM1 Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 I think the help file for iPad Designer is still' a work in progress'. There are further updates to the latest photo beta Help file so Designer won't be far behind. Have you got auto update turned on for Help file? Went looking for it (for other thread readers, Home/Gallery > cogwheel icon in top right = Preferences > General > Automatically update help), and it was turned on (I have delved through the Preferences before, but I did not remember that one).
