MRDD Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Hello, sorry if this has been asked but I can't find the answer (perhaps not using the correct keywords). Is it possible to "close off" part of a placed file in publisher? Within Indesign after you place an element and want to hide a portion of it you would just click on the frame and then drag it to hide whatever portion you do not want visible. I have posted some image examples as well to help clarify. I can't seem to get publisher to act in the same manner and hoping someone can explain how to accomplish this task. Thanks. Quote
Old Bruce Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Draw a rectangle using the Picture Frame Tool and place your image in there and then you can show the whole image or part of it just by dragging the sides of the picture frame. You can make the image larger or smaller by double clicking and moving it about in the same way. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
MRDD Posted June 8, 2019 Author Posted June 8, 2019 Thanks for the reply. I guess i'm just wanting the behavior that i'm used to in Indesign as a default but this method will work I just need to adjust my work flow. Quote
Aammppaa Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Alternatively use the Vector Crop Tool to drag in the edges as in your InDesign example. There is no default keypress to access the Vector Crop Tool, but you can set one of your own in Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts.
