akasso Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 There is one problem with eps files. If I export an eps file from AD for iPad and import it in AD for iPad later, all layers disappear and all objects organized in layers will be exposed. I post illustration materials on stock photos, but the user who downloaded such a file judges that the eps file is difficult to use, and may not buy my provided material. So I would like to know the solution to this problem. The file "IMG_0326" is a eps file that has the issue of no layers. The file "IMG_0327" is the original file that has many layers. The file "IMG0325" is my usual export setting. Thank you in advance. Akasso Quote
Paul Mudditt Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Sorry can’t understand your export settings screenshot but check this setting, it could be your layers are being rasterised because they contain some features that an EPS file cannot support. walt.farrell Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 From what I"ve read in other forums on the web, the EPS file format does not support layers. Perhaps use a different format if they need to be preserved, such as PDF? akasso Posted May 24, 2019 Author Posted May 24, 2019 Hello Paul and walt, Thank you for your advice. I understood eps seems not to support layers. Anyway, I will try creating a test file that have layers without any effect like noise or transparency or dop shadow. Quote
DM1 Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 I think when exporting, transparency is rasterised. As Walt suggested, PDF may be more appropriate. They are some members here who can probably explain reasons why (not me). Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). akasso Posted May 25, 2019 Author Posted May 25, 2019 It’s likely true! Thanks. But I have to use eps format because stock photo sites are usually allow only eps or Ai format as vector images. I keep trying! Quote
akasso Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 Dear Affinity engineers, I found out that any layers and groups are disappeared when I export files as eps even if the export setting is whichever version 2 or 3, whichever rasterize non supported effect. Is there any way to avoid this?? Kind regards, Akasso Quote
