I bought affinity desktop for windows since I have the Mac and iPad versions but only have a desktop with windows 7 on it. I updated it to SP1 and installed all the updates but when I try to install the affinity desktop for windows I just get a window with a blue background and the affinity logo. Never loads to the install steps. I don’t want to upgrade windows if I don’t have too since it is running a laser cutter.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @jamesarm97. :)

The Affinity apps should install and run OK on 64-bit Windows 7 SP1 with Aero enabled. Do you have the 32-bit version of Windows 7, or have you disabled Aero?

Not sure about the Aero feature

It’s enabled by default, so you would know if you’d turned it off. As Darren has kindly pointed out, you also need to have the Platform Update installed:

If you are running Windows 7 64bit you will also need to have the Platform update installed which you download from this link
