Editing an image directly in Publisher using Photo

Recommended Posts

You seem to have asked a Publisher question in the Designer Beta forum. For reference, the Publisher forums are separate, here.

If you really meant Publisher, it has a Photo Persona which Serif will eventually activate. It is not active yet, but when it is active I expect that you would be able to switch to the Photo Persona and do most of the same editing that you would be able to do in the Photo application. We'll have to wait until the Persona is active to know for sure.

Other than that, you could use File > Edit in Photo which transfers your complete .afpub file over to the Photo application, with the single page that was active in Publisher available in Photo for editing. When you're done you save the .afpub file. Then reopen it in Publisher. That function is operational today.

However, Publisher does not seem to have a function that will let you extract an image from the page and pass that to Photo as a separate image.

It would be nice if you could convert a selection to an embedded document and could send an embedded document to one of the other apps for editing.

Currently the "Edit in Photo" and "Edit in Designer" options are disabled when an embedded document is open in a separate tab, but enabling embedded documents to be transferred to the other apps would seem like a logical way to handle this type of request.
