Herschel
When exporting as PDF and selecting Press Ready the pre-set selection box shows Press Ready. If the preview export when complete box is ticked, the selection box becomes blank. The PDF can be exported successfully and it does preview, but it still a bit disconcerting. See attched screen grab.
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, Herschel. Whether to preview or not is one of the options associated with a Preset. That Preset does not use Preview by default, so when you check that box you have changed a setting, and therefore you are no longer using the selected Preset as you have modified its settings. It was a bit disconcerting the first time it happened to me, too. You can, if you wish, create your own Preset that has the Preview enabled. Click the More... button, then the Manage Presets button at the bottom of the next dialog window, then Create Preset. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Staff Pauls Posted March 25, 2019 Staff Share Posted March 25, 2019 They may be a case for removing that option from what determines a preset though.
Herschel
After Walts explanation I did as he said and yes I now have exactly the same preset but with the option to preview the PDF after saving. I do course have to select this and it only applies to my working environment. Personally I think ticking the prevue box in the provided preset should do no more than that. Just let me have a preview afterwards. Why the extra steps are necessary seems to me to lazy programming and not at all necessary as it doesn't change what I am saving or how I am saving it. Also without Walts explaination I would be none the wiser that this was a nessesary step.
