Amateur Spotlight - Endless possibilities

Recommended Posts

Thought I might share one of my paintings drawn using Affinity Photo, the red radio is a photo and the rest is drawn to create an image for a possible concept story that I have been working upon.

The eyes are drawn using one of the Affinity tutorials.   I am very impressed with this software package and the company’s commitment to making the software approachable to all creators.

I am self taught and really wish to encourage new talent and provide a perspective from someone who is not a professional designer but wanted to give it a go.   I would like Affinity to do a series of spotlight on new amateur talent.  I think that it might encourage more budding media artists and kick start new possibilities.

Thanks Affinity.

I like the contrast between the two characters - and the colours work together.

I think it might be worth noting that there is sometimes a difference between the colours you can see on the ‘posting page’ and the colours you can see if you click on the image and zoom in. I asked about this a while back and, if I remember correctly, it was something to do with the forum software and there’s not much the Affinity team can do about it.
Also, the use of noise can sometimes make an image look different when the image is not viewed at the original size.
All-in-all, to see the image properly, click on it and zoom in.

Thanks for feedback, the interesting thing I noticed when uploading this is that the colours were changed a little when compered to original but still looked ok.

I perceive it as more vibrant viewed alone in a new tab. In Photoshop etc. I usually experience the opposite that pictures look more dull at 100%.
