Cannot install v1.6.5.135 after latest Win 10 update

Recommended Posts

So, I have applied the latest Windows 10 update which includes the latest .NET version 4.7.2 and the installer crashes without even loading any application windows.  I have looked online and it is not possible to rollback versions of .Net with the latest Windows update bundles!

I did see someone else who had this issue but he was able to roll back to a 4.6.5.  Any ideas?

I know very little about the Windows versions other than what I read in these forums, but I do know that they can only be installed on a 64 bit version of Windows. Is it possible you are running a 32 bit version of Windows 10?

That's the key error, I think, and it indicates a problem with your Windows installation (not the Affinity program itself).

Yesterday one of the Serif staff mentioned that some users have resolved this by "re-installing the Visual C++ runtime (specific to the installed app, we require VS2017 runtime)." After a bit of searching I found this site with instructions for doing that (scroll down the page to find them):
https://appuals.com/fix-microsoft-visual-c-runtime-library-error-in-windows-10/

I have not tried these instructions myself, but perhaps they will help you.
